That same premise was used (well) during RIP/Final Crisis between Batman and Darkseid. The concept of Batman is eternal, Joker? Not so much IMO.

Yep, it stinks of desperation pretty bad IMO. Funny thing is, i genuinely loved almost every other aspect of this. A poster above said it, between JL and this, us DC fans have had some great comics...
Well..Batman DOES randomly get the urge to go digging in his cave, and very RANDOMLY stumbles on to the blood splotched smiley pin, soyeah...so much for subtitles lol.
Regardless of harassment, DC would have to purge the vast majority of their upper management and even some of the editorial staff to entice me to start reading more than one or two books...
Of course it was prior to him joining Chi PD and GCPD... iirc Year One is the first mention of Gordon's service.
Couldn't agree more, altering the character the way he did is what makes Miller such an icon.
Sadly I think you just fleshed out a solution that would be about twenty times more thoughtful, ballsy, and clever than what we'll end up getting from stale ole Johns. They would do this or something...
Most of the twice monthlies will be twice as decompressed and will probably often need fill in artists depending on who we're depending on to draw. My expectations are low, despite that, I know there...
Ugh..like with King on Batman, I wanted to hate this at first, but after a few interviews it's safe to say i'm now sold on both for at least one arc...Batwoman AND Azrael? Well that I just cannot...
We still have #51 but I miss him already :(
Have been pretty peeved about this relaunch, the twice monthly thing really got me. These comics are already SUPER decompressed as it is...
After...
Same here. Soooo done with reboots, soft, hard, creative...MEH. Giving this one even less a chance than new 52 had is pretty laugh out loud funny. I hope DC knows that they aren't Marvel, most of...
Lol, that's exactly the impression I got re reading it last night. I'm cool with that move though, the dude's given us SO much.
This, and just about every other team announced got a big ole' MEH.... from me. DC's screwing the pooch...AGAIN. I've followed this publisher through SO many bad ideas that got cancelled mid arc, I...
Bloom seems to have a Long Halloween style ending where we aren't certain when he was Daryl and when he was the nameless guy who gave Peter Duggio the seed in #44 and stole the identity back from...
The twice monthly stuff killed this for me. I bought a large amount of new52 title and only about 20% of the books wound up not being a TOTAL waste of money. I'm going to give this a half a year to...
100% agree, can't wait to see what Snyder does next (Detective right?).
I've been reading Snyder's Batman since Detective #871 came out in March 2011, and this is easily my favorite arc yet. The man GETS it, his interpretation is cemented right up there with Miller and...
Here we go again... the fact the dc thinks they can maintain some of these titles twice a month is actually laugh out loud hysterically funny to me.
Its just you. Just keeps getting better and better IMO.
Well, Jim is IN FACT a masterful detective, so like when Batwoman took over the book for a year, the title Detective definitely still fits!
I know, it bums me out. I happen to be enjoying this book quite a bit! Honestly, the story AND the art get consistently better each issue. It's paced much better this year, I mean, look how dense...
This series was way better than I expected, twice the quality of the last Eternal. After half a decade almost, it's really nice to see DC start fleshing out the actual new 52 Batman universe..
Loved this. Looked great, moved the plot forward and had a BEAUTIFUL Guillem March cover. Really curious to see how Batman's mind was/is affected by Mother's manipulation, also cannot wait for more...
I can't wait to see what Snyder does when Capullo takes his hiatus. I have a feeling it will be something wildly different from what we're used to. Maybe a long form possible future story? Either...
You know what... I kinda have to agree with you there haha.
