My biggest gripe with Hickman's writing is that he has these little turns of phrase that he likes, so it's often like the characters are speaking with his voice. A few Hickman-isms I spotted in this...
Cliffhangers are confusing.
This feels dense as hell with all the sub-plots going on. They all feel significant though, in their own way - like even Rahne's story seems to be heading somewhere now.
