Justice League 3001 lets you jump in just about anywhere and is really fun, funny, character-driven DC superheroics. One of the few I feel is worth the price tag of an individual issue as well.
...
Keep the secret ID outed.
Focus on journalism and populist angles through the adventures of both Lois and Clark.
This may rub people the wrong way, but only trot out the large-than-life sci-fi...
-Reboots are good, but must be accompanied by actual narrative movement in each universe
-Endless serialized fiction is ultimately untenable and unsatisfying
-Most monthly books are not worth their...
Oh, also -- I'm trying to get out of the monthly comics game, but Vol. 1 trade pre-ordered, and I'm someone who hasn't yet read the series beyond previews.
Oh, I know. That's already a pretty joyfully cynical marketing tactic.
I really hope that as soon as (hopefully not for a long time) the writing's on the wall for it, they just go all out with...
When the time comes for Justice League 3001, I hope it goes out on exactly that note.
I don't think they're worried about you sharing them with friends. You can already do that simply boy handing out your Comixology login (which I've done).
I do they think they're worried about...
1) God oh god, please buy Justice League 3001. It's so good, but it's good in a traditionally character-driven superhero mode and doesn't often make these lists. It's the most fun book at DC right...
Completely agreed. I think being outed is a positive step for him as a journalist, long-term, and should simply be his new status quo as they find a way to return him to his career.
I'd really...
deCampi avoided directly mentioning names in order to avoid libel. But that Berganza's name has since been tangentially connected says a lot.\
Technically, he might be able to sue over some of the...
Yeah; then you could either trade-wait or purchase only your preferred chapters digitally.
But even if there's a bad run of Beyond in the magazine, you wouldn't be willing to take that along with...
Just read it, along with this month's Batman/Superman and Superman/Wonderwoman.
This was ... a rather weak ending (to the extent that it is one). I love some of the sentiments Pak imbues the book...
While the bit at the end may have been slightly melodramatic, this was my favorite issue of the month (Yang's Superman not yet out) by some margin. It seems to be bleeding right into the next arc (or...
This is the perfect anti-DKSA post. Just quintessential. Perfect.
Late thirties to early forties is my take, too, though it's based less on real math and more the fact that that universe ends (at least in my mind) with Morrison's holistic take. That puts Batman as...
As a more recent reader, yeah -- I really did enjoy that for a while. I still do, to some extent.
But that's also a good way to make sure I jump out of the line completely in a few years' time...
-Journalist superhero (two if you count Lois)
-Populist superhero (though not all iterations)
-Genuinely good person unwilling to back down (kind of goes along with the populist aspect)...
While this is a silly thread, I'd like to put out a serious guess that Mirage's Turtlemania (gold cover) is among, if not the, rarest indie comic with an active secondary market.
I'll counter by pointing out that I imagine Azzarello, as someone who lists Maus before Watchmen, was likely quite sincere in his praise for the book.
I won't get into the details of why DKSA flew...
Woah, woah, wait.
They're actually doing an Avengers crossover? I was really hoping that would happen with all the other pulpy '60s crossovers going on. When was that announced?
Decently high...
"The 'Dark Knight' is supposed to be provocative."
Wow. Everyone involved might actually understand this. Very pleasant interview; has restored a great amount of faith in the project. My worst...
Lee Stone, I was under the assumption your post implied the entire main DC comics line moved to anthology books.
I still think that would work, and better than their current system.
As in,...
Everything would still be serialized. It's just the Japanese model.
The brilliance is that even John Q "I liked The Dark Knight" could be convinced to impulse purchase a $12 Bat-family anthology...
This is the future of comics. You could even raise the price point a bit. More intuitive, more exciting, and, I'd think, actually has a chance in hell of selling in non-direct markets (gas stations,...
