I’ll definitely give this a try given that I’ve following Cates, and Dugan before him. It feels like the problem with Guardians the last few years is that none of the writers have really had a strong...
In fairness, he seems to be focusing basically on people who bonded either Venom or Carnage specifically, so I don’t really think the heroes that got symbiotes in Venomized are really priorities.
I feel like other than Wolverine the X-Men are super off-limits to Absolute Carnage.
I hope there isn’t an impact. I honestly don’t want some terrible mutant supremacy status quo in all my Marvel books for the next two years.
Yeah, the golden gods from Thor need to get some backstory.
Hmmmm, could be symbiote related, but too soon to say. Could also easily be Marvel Zombies.
I hope that the older characters they’re bringing back (Patricia Robertson, Scream and the Life Foundation symbiotes) get to play an actually important role. I hope there’s a good reason they’re...
Yeah, they were separated the whole time. If you read the Strikeforce issue there are a few pleases where they hint that it’s just the symbiote, especially when he gets stepped on by the frost giant.
What was Remender’s original plan?
Cates is back with #16 in July.
That’s my thought, but the solicitation for the Absolute Carnage tie-in makes it seem like it’s someone else.
I would be pleasantly shocked if that plot thread ever got picked up again.
The first preview of Ansolute Carnage has been released. Looks like Stegman will be killing it on art.

My understanding is that DC releases the solicits when they do because someone at the company consistently leaks them to Bleeding Cool. That isn’t the case at Marvel.
I’m pretty excited for the Separation Anxiety and Scream tie ins. The Venom tie in looks amazing. Toxin AND Sleeper back? We’re getting spoiled. I just hope Jimmy and the last few Poisons show up. I...
They don’t explain how the symbiote is where it is, but if we assume this is after WotR, it makes some sense.
Honestly, as long as the books are good and the new #1s don’t disrupt the story, I get why companies (not just Marvel) do it. It is annoying when the #1s feel the need to explain a character we...
Ah, the monthly “Comics are dying, man! Wake up, Marvel is doomed!” parade is right on time.
I don’t really have a stake in this, but I will say it’s an interesting reflection on culture how quickly writers and artists go from hero to villain these days. Bendis had like 10 plus years before...
DC have really managed to slam dunk this story into the toilet. Would many people even care if it got canceled at this point?
It is unfortunate that the story is getting sidetracked right after the big reveals in The Abyss, but I at least hope it will be a fun silly three issues. What really worries me is issue #16 and the...
Preview of #13 is up. It’s good to have Coello back, he draws a mean symbiote.

Dark Horse haven’t released their solicitations yet, either, so I’m guessing early next week for both.
At least Absolute Carnage will probably give us the gift of Carnage killing Lee Price.
The forbidden host. It would be pretty fun to at least see a flashback of a winged vampire symbiote, but Marvel wouldn’t even let Starlin use Rune’s skeleton, so yeah I won’t hold my breath.
