They aren’t pushing them out because of good sales. They have to get them out fast while they have the rights to use the character, ala Shang Chi.
If you like the material in Fatal Attractions, X-Cutioner's Song, etc., than it is fun! I personally love this era and find it iconic, so I'll be picking it up.
Here is my Marvel list, because that is what I mostly read:
1. Englehart Silver Surfer through Starlin Silver Surfer through Infinity Gauntlet/War/Crusade and through SS in the 90s
2. Chris...
He's a super nice guy with a contact at Marvel and he hesitated to let the news out as if it had to be OK'd by them. He is reliable!
Just read the Cates' Thanos run...was amazing, a 9/10 for me. Can't wait to pick up that OHC, but wish they would have included Lemire's run in it as well. Gonna be odd having it next to the two tiny...
I feel your pain, my brother. I went through this with the IG omnibus as well, but we seem to be in the minority for reasons quoted as "it makes for a bad reading experience" and "things happen...
Just wad up a piece of acid free comic board and stick it under the pge block at the end. Boom, no sagging due to gravity
My List:
1. UXM volume 4 (1)
2. Silver Surfer by Englehart (25)
3. Infinity Crusade (32)
4. Avengers volume 5 (29)
5. X-Force volume 4 (53)
6. Avengers by Stern (11)
7. X-Factor 90's run...
I just finished reading my copy. Art was great, story was so-so. Got into it more in the later issues. It was fun. Don't regret buying it, if only for the Byrne art.
It went from 3 inches spine width to 2.2 inches. It also has a curved spine, which is great, since my copy and almost every copy I've ever seen of that book has a huge crease because of the old flat...
Super surprised to see GOTG by Valentino do so poorly...I'm excited to read that book and was looking forward to it for a long time.
Surprised we haven't seen any early photos of the Prelude to War of Kings or the X-men omni
I read X-Factor 1-10 (1986) and Avengers #29
The X-Factor stuff was great. Avengers a little sloggy.
You have read the best of it. Disassembled and Breakout were my favorite parts.
Not to mention it forces you to double dip in some cases with previously-released softcovers if you want them to look uniform on the shelf. Examples: New Mutants Classic, Excalibur Classic, many...
Preaching to the choir. I sold my volume 1 a year or so ago for like 45 bucks. Then I re-bought it and volume 2 a month ago for 150 shipped.
Wish they called it "Cable and X-Force Omnibus" just like the now extinct tpb series that picked up after the X-Force MPCs
What is included that isn't in the OHC?
I can't get enough Byrne. I own every Marvel omni he contributed to.
UXM
FF
Alpha Flight
Avengers
Marvel Universe
But Claremont's run had so many great artists like Paul Smith, Jim Lee,...
That Magic mini is also in UXM omni 3 and the most recent masterworks volume...
I am not buying the New Mutants book or the Silver Surfer book. But I'll upgrade the MPC's to the omnibus for X-Force because I have the first omni. And I'd rather have the Hickman run in one book.
For me too:
Hickman's Avengers volume 1 (double dipping on ALL the OHCs)
New Mutants Epic (double dipping on New Mutants Classic)
Deadpool and X-Force Omnibus (double dipping on the marvel...
I much prefer chronological as far as the story goes rather than release order. They screwed up the AoA omnibus with that. I felt the notion of wanting to read things "as they came out" to preserve...
We want to see interior GotG pics though! Please! lol
