Films are objects, they have objective qualities to them.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Oh hey, maybe this movie will explore the concept of liberty vs security in a post 9/11 wor- oh, the bad guys are just cartoon Nazis and the whole concept of them...
I think the shared universe thing is just a tool, one that can be used properly or improperly.
I don't think any of the problems the DCEU has thought have been at fault because of the shared universe though.
Being part of an extended universe just makes movies media more interesting
I'm going to be pretty disappointed if this is like The Batman or something new. You lose a lot of interest when things are not part of a shared universe.
I didn't even know it was a Star Trek thing though, I just thought it was a Star Trek-like Dreamworks film. I do like that the whole cast is alien and am willing to give the show a shot, but, from a...
If I'm reading this right, Superman being black is just speculation at this point.
About time, not sure why people are saying that Superman is gonna be black though...
It's just more convoluted than if Yara remained in the Amazon. I'm sure when I read the story it would feel smoother.
Thanks for this, I actually didn't know what he meant.
I saw an advertisement for this Prodigy show and didn't even know it was Star Trek, holy crap that is not a good sign.
It is a convoluted origin story for sure.
She is an indigenous character though, the issue is that she doesn't come across as a Brazilian which there is apparently a lore explanation.
When was it revealed that she was from Idaho?
Either way, the reason why she's from Idaho is probably the same reason that all the GL are from AMERICA; out of a misguided belief that...
There is no reason why she can't be Kira.
I hope she gets a stand alone movie! I was just thinking today how much of a wasted momentum WB had for MoS.
Update: Didn't expect the topic to divulge into the categorization of the races.
Feels a bit wokescoldy, especially during the part where the author talks about some incident in the Immortal Hulk...Yes, this comic is not representative of the 'Brazilian' identity, I was never...
I'm looking forward to the film, my only concern is that the #SnyderCut movement might be more interesting than the final project itself (even if its good).
The funny thing with Zack Snyder is...
Also, the criticism that Scorsese is doing a hypocrisy by working with Netflix reminded me of the meme that you can't criticize society if you participate in it.
Scorsese said something that was fairly non-controversial and the responses to his claim by some was calling him an old man. I don't think it is controversial for me to say, that given the previous...
You people do understand that you imply something without saying it, right? Again, the title of the thread is Scorsese is at it again..., implying that this is a continuation of the last Scorsese...
That's because he has too. For The Irishmen, you were never going to get that film published in theatres (beyond the time needed for an Oscar nom) because it was nearly 4 hours long.
I read the room, the title of the thread more or less told me where these criticisms were coming from (Scorsese at it again...). I should also say in my original post too I said Scorsese's comments...
