BPRD is my favourite comics in the Mignolaverse and Guy Davis is by far my favourite artist. His Marquis is also great. Very sad that he is not doing comics these days.

In the post-Guy Davis era...
East of West
Deadly Class
Prophet
Bored at work so here is the tally:
1. Lazarus - 19
2. Saga - 12
3. East of West - 11
4. Southern Bastards - 9
5. Walking Dead - 7
If you want to recommend some Ellis you gotta do it right. =) Recommend Planetary, Transmetropolitan, Authority or Fell. I like Ellis but I understand that he is not for everyone (well, who is...)....
8house was fantastic. Lovely art. A fully formed world, mysterious and odd. You feel like an anthropologist exploring an alien culture. I'm intrigued.
Kev Walker "quite the talent"? He is one of the industry's greatest.
Prophet is amazing but requires very close reading - which makes it even more enjoyable. What happened to Earth War BTW?
Also signed up for a three months subscription starting with 1924. Mainly for Dan Abnett, never can get enough of his stuff. Also like the Dredd and Strontium Dog stories. Slaine just leaves me...
Great interview and very happy to see that Brubaker is doing well. He was doing Cpt America and X-Men when I got back into comics and one of the first writers I started to follow. Great times we are...
Here is the thread. Suggested reading order is Aliens, Prometheus, Predator, AVP (cannot confirm myself, yet to read them)...
Going digital and waiting for sales is the cheapest option. Just requires patience and some degree of self control...
Interesting stuff. Kirkman must be a millionaire by now considering the success of TWD.
Not High Fantasy (silly term anyway) but most of Dark Horse's Conan books are very good. Busiek, Woods, Truman have all produced some great stories. But you are right, there is little fantasy...
Popul Vuh and Tangerine Dream. Great taste in music.
Living in a developing country without access to a proper store I read digital only and usually wait for sales or prices to drop after one month. Thanks to digital comics I now read more than ever,...
Not limited to Image titles:
Best Ongoing - BPRD (Runners-Up: Lazarus, Prophet, Baltimore, Deadly Class, Fatale)
Best New Series - Deadly Class (Runners-Up: Southern Bastards, Spread, Fade Out)...
Really enjoying this series. Classic Dan Abnett stuff. Culbard's art is growing on me as well. Have to check out Brass Sun.
Scalped is the epitome of gritty. Since you are reading (and liking I guess) Hellboy I would also recommend BPRD.
Arcudi is always solid and capable of greatness. Harren's art is just amazing! Definitely checking this out.
Locke & Key is really, really good. You cant go wrong with that series. Re Dark Horse: BPRD is (and has always been) absolutely fantastic.
Myself not a great Boys fan. But if you enjoy Ellis, Preacher is indeed a must-read. Scalped is among my favourite comics of the last years. If you want a really massive story line that is still...
Yet to buy and read but that cover alone makes the purchase worthwhile. Good to hear the positive feedback.
Ever since the end of the Governor story line TWD has gone down hill. So I second this recommendation (although I think it concluded in a later issue but not able to check atm).
Great sale. Went on a splurge:
The Fade Out #1
Supreme: Blue Rose #1
Velvet #1-5
Starlight #1-5
Southern Bastards #2-3
Trees #1 - 3
Low #1
Dark Engine #1
Sheltered #2-10
On sale are:
Clone
Ghosted
Manifest Destiny
Thief of Thieves
Dead Body Road
Witch Doctor
Definitely getting Manifest Destiny. Anything else recommended?
Arcudi is a great writer but mainly buying for Harren's art.
