I completely agree with that. It was just a weird jump to not have any explanation. They could have definitely benefited from fleshing it out a bit more, even the comic didn't do that period justice...
I mean.. I always thought Joker was a little bit closer to Batman age-wise, give or take 5 years or so either way. At the same time this seems like a passion project to me, and you can't fault...
