If Ben Reilly’s suit isn’t one of them, I’ll be furious!
I was surprised and pleased with how Ben’s story went here - death seemed like the only way out for him. Now I have no clue what he’s going to do! I’d like to see him talk to Peter and Kaine though.
I reckon Ben is going sacrifice himself in Spider-Geddon and maaaaybe become the new Master Weaver. I’m not sure how I’d feel about that, but it’d give him a higher purpose.
That is an excellent depiction of Spidey, and a nice tribute to Dan’s run!
A suitably epic issue, but not as earth-shattering as #700 was. I’ll miss Dan’s writing!
This issue was a bit of a mess - too many plotlines that connected poorly (particularly the Doom stuff). I really didn't care about Tony's parents or the insane Da Vinci thing.
However, the art...
Cassandra is a casino owner with a terminally ill daughter, whom Ben is trying to find a cure for.
I thought this was a good issue; it felt like things were back on track after the distraction of...
I'm hoping Scarlet Spider suffered a dip because it tied into Damnation - it was one of the few weak points in the series so far. Regardless, I hope Ben and Kaine survive if it's cancelled.
And I...
Yeah, this was an excellent issue. I particularly loved the panel of the truck colliding with Venom!
I agree, that didn’t interest me at all. I appreciated this issue as a standalone experience and a personal way for Bendis to finish off his run, but couldn’t care less about most of the seeds he’d...
That makes it sound like that series is ending ... and I don't think it is? I really hope not, it's been so good to have Ben back. I was just thinking that I was surprised at how long it's lasted too!
Immonen, without a doubt. Slott's had a whole bunch of great artists to work with, but Immonen's stuff has consistently popped. I was disappointed when he left Star Wars after one arc.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Miles' adventures have been great for a while. Bendis has failed to engage me fully in the last few years, even though his original Ultimate run...
I went with #300 because Venom! I love #400 regardless of the retcon and #700 kicked off one of favorite years of Spidey, so it was a tough choice. Hoping #800 is at that level.
Bagley for me, but I like them all.
Superior stands as one of my favorite periods of Spidey history, it was just so fresh and fun! I also loved New Ways to Die Spider-Island and Clone Conspiracy (hurray for the '90s), and Go Down...
I suspected that his role in the main miniseries would be small. I don’t want to support Marvel’s silly events (since they usually disappoint) outside the Spidey and Venom ones, so I’ve chosen to...
That cameo is pretty cool. It’s a wonder that Peter hasn’t heard about a Scarlet Spider, wearing Ben’s costume, operating in Vegas!
I’m only reading the Scarlet Spider issues of this event and don’t feel like I’ve been missing much. This was a decent issue; I liked Ben’s questioning the deal and his chat with Kaine.
This was a good issue, but I'm not wild about Ben getting involved in an event. I don't really want to read Damnation, so I'll see if I can just stick to SS and still have the narrative make sense...
They're so beautiful, I want them alllllll! I hope they're normal price variants, at least. It looks like the pair in this post form a connecting image.
I'm not sure how a review can be redundant. I don't agree with everything he says, but it's a well written piece and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
Just jumping back this thread, love the Venom variants. I think the ASM #798 one is my favorite, I'm a sucker for Dodson art and I love the moment when MJ encounters Venom in the apartment. It really...
I saw it in April 2012 and thought it was decent, I'm glad I saw it. The stunts were pretty impressive, the music was reasonable and I particularly enjoyed Green Goblin and Jonah's roles. The...
I loved Norman's interactions with the symbiote and the Peter/MJ stuff, but some of the silliness (like Peter getting distracted by Flash abandoning him and being caught out by Phil) left me cold. I...
