I really loved Azzarello's Wonder Woman run. To me, he really nailed the Amazon mentality of the character. But I recognize that was massively controversial to the hardcore WW base.

It is all about promoting the characters at the right time, both in comics and in other media. It is a game of playing to the zeitgeist. DC was just better, or luckier, when playing that game.

They could have two numbers - a Gen5 number and a Legacy number. Or Batman/Tec/Action/Superman will all be reserved for other generations and the new heroes will have uniquely named books.

It is more than just Terry. It was everything about Batman Beyond - Terry, Bruce, the suit, the villains the cyber punk future. Everything about it made it memorable, interesting and fun.

Hal Jordan is a really generic super hero who was better off being dead. Every other Green Lantern is more interesting and has a better character arc than Hal.
