Pretty much. Deep down...that seems to be what they actually want. Peter being an actual functioning adult is what OMD was meant eliminate.

Exactly. Whether Marvel likes it or not...Peter has aged...and he'll continue to age because everyone else in 616 is. Even characters that are canonically younger than him like Kitty Pryde and...
Yeah...the problem with a rigid and unchanging status quo...is that you eventually hit a wall in what you can do. As someone said when BND first started "why should we care who Peter dates...we know...
This actually would've been a good time to dust off his mastery of the "Theta State" he used to beat Dominus way back in the King of The World storyline.
The easiest way around this...is just to reveal that Teen Jon is an anomaly created by the Time Trapper. Have Kid Jon return and expose the whole plot...and the Super Family defeats him in a massive...
I think there's probably a lot of dissatisfaction for 2018 Jon at DC. But no one will take the necessary steps to fix things...so the character is just stuck. Shame...
Yep. Jon is the one who's out in the cold nowadays. No one genuinely seems interested in using him.
De-aged. They haven't known what to do with him since the age-up,and 5G was canned.
They decided that rather than slowly develop the character in an organic way...they'd just fast-forward him into being Superman...while also removing anything remotely interesting about his...
Just say "MJ" is a magical replica. Then the character will never have to deal with the taint that is "Paul".
Yep. And Kon will win out over Jon simply due to the fact that he's far more popular. The age up pretty much derailed Jon. DC has struggled to find anything to do with Jon for half a decade now....
Likely, the latter. They haven't had any luck with the character since the age up.
It's Morphin' Time! Sorry...couldn't resist...
There seems to be a swing(hehehe...) in a different direction now as far as what the general audience wants from Spider-Man now. In the 2000's...there was the push for "young single Spidey". Whether...
I can just imagine what their 616 counterparts would think of that.
He definitely wasn't. Bendis seems to work better for smaller, less cosmic casts. Legion played to every weakness he had as a writer.
That actually makes a good case that this Legion *should* be erased. And honestly...I read it and I completely forgot about them until they were mentioned in this thread. Ignoring them and switching...
I don't know why they just don't ignore them...and move on? They didn't leave much of an impact...outside of being probably the least popular version of the Legion.
One of the most stunning things in this issue...was Jonah actually being nice to Peter!;)
OMD regressed the characters by decades. All to be able to rehash the same tired plots endlessly. *sighs*
Yeah...the Peter being a clone "reveal" was what really caused everything to crash and burn. There was no way long time readers were going to accept that.
Yeah...it just "feels" like the actual Peter and MJ. Despite the continuity differences...I could believe these are the same characters that existed prior to OMD. Current ASM just feels like a bunch...
Reveal that Teen Jon is a result of the Time Trapper's manipulations to destroy the timeline. Have Teen Jon realize this...and save his kid self from Earth 3. Have a massive showdown between the Time...
Seeing an actual adult Peter again is a glorious sight. It feels like an eternity...
This is so bad...it's like they're trolling themselves...
