Peaked too early at the start (Red Death, Murder Machine)...
He claims he fought "armies of villains, alien tyrants, the wrath of god" - and the issues shows none of this.
That would of been 20-odd pages worth reading.
Before this issue, I was expecting some form of reveal along the lines of all the Robins being versions of young Jason Todd - what with the whole "crow" and "bar" back and forth calls.
A bunch of...
Oh right, guess I didn't pick up on that! Does it mention that in BWL? I remember the scene with the children but I glossed over the details.
Well that was disappointing, an origin story which was better summarised in an interview.
Did they ever reveal who the Batman Who Laugh's Robins were? (aside from the one that was clearly Damian.)...
So the Devastator can transform into his "Doomsday" look at will? Thats a neat way to differentiate from other bulky brute types.
I was expecting Ares to be involved, which happened - Batman taking his helmet and that being the thing that fully corrupts him was a neat concept. After he takes the helmet off, he rather resembles...
Post-Metal, I'd love it if the Dark Knights were split up again and sent to various Multiverse worlds to become mainstay antagonists to several different universes. Earth-0 is overcrowded enough as...
I didn't know that about the two of them!
I just posted this on another thread, which in light of what you just said adds more weight to my theory;
It's set on Earth -12, but its "positive"...
I'm not sure, I was waiting for someone to post non-covered spoilers before doing so myself, because some people get really salty if you don't.
I wasn't trying to be funny either, however...
...
Perhaps because it doesn't mention spoilers in the thread title?
Perhaps because the OP posted before the Drowned was released?
I didn't realise there was an arbitrary cut-off date for spoilers...
On reflection of this issue and people's on it as a whole.
Evidently the nuance that Morrison tried to implant into Earth-11, with the Amazons moulding the world into a primarily matriarchal-based...
Loved the art, but the story once again was somewhat lacking for me;
Spoilers ahoy!
Who's Sylvester Kyle supposed to be? The Drowned makes clear references to his death being the driving force...
Leading up to his one-shot, Murder Machine was presumed to be a composite of Batman and Cyborg. Turns outs Cyborg wasn't although he did have an unwilling hand in Murder Machine's "birth".
So yes...
As Murder Machine proved, I don't think its as simple as the initial "Batman & JL member merge" idea that the teaser imagery made it out to be.
I really wouldn't be surprised if the Drowned was a...
I know, but it doesn't make me emphasise with him - which is someone at least I did for the other two.
On reflection of this one-shot, I probably could write a lot about why I think it doesn't work as a story. I'll have a think about it.
Main issue I had was too much time and focus was spent...
I enjoyed the issue, but thought the story was a bit flimsy.
SPOILERS
I did like the "all the power, none of the restraint" angle they went with. Bruce literally breaks the ring, which is nice...
That was also me. I'm a sucker for Morrison's Multiversity!
My guess on why the Drowned is female is along the same lines of the Red Death, where it appears that Bruce's subconscious merged with...
Dawnbreaker originates from Earth -32.
Earth-32 in the Multiverse is the one with Bat-Lantern. Neat little easter egg!
Interesting issue, I enjoyed it but not as much as Red Death.
SPOILERS
The flashback scenes I thought were great but the present day ones where Murder Machine fought Cyborg didn't interest me...
I read it a couple times before hitting up various annotations online. Reading it after that really made me appreciate all the attentions to detail - especially the panel compositions and sly nods to...
It's been a while since I've read Forever Evil, but that sounds about right.
The current events of Flash could of been before the events of Red Death took place, or I suspect they were ignored for this issue. It's the current Flash writer who did this issue as well wasn't it?
It'll be interesting going into this one already knowing the origin of Murder Machine - thanks to Snyder revealing it in interviews.
Though the issue starts on Earth-0, I'm pretty sure i'll jump...
