Whedon used Morgan's conception of the Red Room - a brutal & dehumanizing "murder orphanage" where little girls are raised to be perfect spies & assassins - as opposed to Grayson's original concept...
The panels included in the post is just one instance of how terrible the book is - instead of Natasha deciding to defect to the US herself, on her own free will, Morgan created this perfume/pheromone...
God, why can't they leave Homecoming in the pit Whedon found it in.
ngl, that description is makes it sound like Name of the Rose.
Hopefully this book won't prevent him from showing up in the new Black Widow book.
Personally what I would love to see is Natasha lead the Secret Avengers in a book that include Bucky, Bobbi, Sharon, Maria Hill, etc. Have the primary focus on the team and their missions, but also...
That whole part of the interview sounded like they were trying to deflect any criticism by claiming a woman told them to do it. Markus and McFeely straight up fridged Natasha and Gamora and are...
The directors and writers literally killed off the first female Avenger and the first female Guardian in the exact same way and then conveniently couldn't come up with a way to undo the fridging they...
Letting Bucky co-star in a streaming series with Sam and then have a supporting role in the Black Widow movie sounds about perfect to me.
Honestly at this point, I would be quite happy for Marvel to hold off on the solo series if we could get a dedicated, serious, well-written team book with both characters. Give me a Secret Avengers...
From what I understand, the purpose of the series was to give Samnee the chance to be a co-writer. He was the one who wanted to do a Black Widow story, and so both Waid and Marvel went along with it...
I'm okay with a more brutal Natasha if it makes sense for the character. I can totally see her going full out to save the lives of children being used for dark web smut films. But what worries me...
The run was designed from the beginning to only be twelve issues. Trust me there were plenty of people who didn't want to see the book end, but it was always supposed to be a maxiseries.
It's just kinda weird, the way they're talking about it makes it sound like ToS didn't happen at all (even if the letter at the end of ToS does seem to set Natasha up on this path).
Not in any of the previous articles about the series that I have seen. I have a friend who was at the panel, so I'm planning on asking her if he mentioned Hydra at all.

Black Widow: Deadly Origin includes a number of Cold War-era flashbacks and Nikita Khrushchev even makes a cameo appearance. And while Black Widow #19-20 doesn't specifically give us a date, I would...
This has the potential to be a good story, but right now there's something about how he's talking about the book that just seems really off. Do we know who the book's editor is? Because if it's the...
WAIT WHERE?? I need a link to this :D
The characters I want to see in the Black Widow movie:
Bucky as the sidekick/love interest
Anya/Recluse as the main villain
Yelena Belova as the star pupil from Recluse's reconstituted Red Room...
Let's be honest here - there's been way more posturing over Steve than there's ever been over Natasha with these two. But there's never been any indication that they hate each other. Their...
There were just a few little mentions in the book - like that quote I posted earlier, and then captions for some of the covers like Black Widow #10 and Winter Soldier #2. ngl, as a Bucky/Natasha...
Heroclixs can be a hit or miss with me, most of the Black Widow ones they've put out look like her zipper starts below her boobs - not in a 'sexy comic book lady' way but more in a 'sloppy figure...
I got it and read through it. My take on the book is this: If you approach it as a coffee table art book, it's amazing and absolutely gorgeous. It you approach it as a complete comic book history,...
How cutesy do you mind going? I have some Heroclixs as well as the Black Widow and Winter Soldier Marvel tsum tsum vinyl figures at my work desk (I like them because they are designed to stack, so...
