I hate major changes to her mutant power like this. I liked her best when she didn't have an off switch. It made her powerful, but had a cost to both herself and others and she should have been...
I'm not a fan of it, either. Honestly, I just wish they had said Rogue's powers work automatically and that's just how it goes. There are lots of people who go through life with an uncurable illness...
So, I've been complaining for years about the over use of time travel in Marvel and specifically the X-lines but this... This is a cool twist.
^This.
I was barely able to understand parallels or allegory when I was in elementary school reading and watching the X-Men, but I knew there was something different about me and I knew it wasn't...
Probably a dumb question, but... Haven't followed Kwannon's resurrection. Does she currently have telepathy or telekinesis? I was always unclear as to whether she was a mutant originally or only...
I see the collar the same way I saw say, Nightcrawler, using an image inducer back in the day. It was a patch, not a fix, because looking the way he looks is not something that needs to be fixed. ...
They aren't out of control :p
Her powers are not a "problem."
Rogue's powers are fine, they don't need any more tinkering. Removing the double edged sword aspect of her power takes away so much of what makes her compelling. Creatively working around the issue...
I'm so glad the Mike Carey years are over. Rogue's powers never needed a cure! They work the way the work and I'd much rather see her character progress to a place of acceptance rather than a bunch...
I don't know some people want a happy ending for Rogue and a magical cure that makes everything hunky-dory. There are plenty of people who live with incurable diseases and physical disabilities who...
^Ew. So glad it's not.
I'm completely over all time displaced/reality displaced X-men and X-men progeny popping up for an arc and then going into limbo. Can we keep Rachel and Cable and send the others away or pretend they...
Because Marvel has learned that no.1's will sell, so new teams with back-from-the-dead fan favorites are popping up left and right.
I don't necessarily agree that we need to reset to the 80's or...
Do I have to remember that? The way some writers have turned Xavier into a devious mad man is so obnoxious.
Speaking only for myself, I found Carey's Rogue to be almost unrecognizable, only a fraction of which is due to changes in her power set.
This is insanity. Calling someone a non-fan because they don't agree with your mostly unintelligible rants? You can't take X-men forever, which is basically a Claremont acid trip that is part fan-fic...
This. Rogue was always meant to be a fists first bruiser character with a sad twist. I don't know why everyone wants a story book happy ending for her. There are a lot of people with untreatable...
She doesn't need an on/off switch. It was lazy writing to have ever given her one. Conflict is what makes a character great. Rising above that limitation and thriving in spite of it is what makes...
Yes, yes, and yes!!! My favorite lineup ever.
Cyclops and Jean(72) -2
Emma Frost and Cyclops(4)
Wolverine and Storm(22)
Gambit and Rogue(48) +2
Polaris and Havok(14)
Xavier and Lilandra(12)
Psylocke and Archangel(32)
Mystique and...
I agree. Part of the strength of Rogue' s character came from her power being a blessing and a curse. It also helps set her apart from characters like synch, hope, and mimic somewhat. There are a...
So funny, I used to joke about this possible scenario with a friend of mine. To quote TAS, "You help Leech, Leech help you."
The final act really did leave a bad taste in my mouth. Instead of an epic ninja battle we got robotron silver samurai or some nonsense which made no sense, looked ridiculous, and took away almost...
