Well it's a nice outlook. He made it for a specific set of fans, but it's still a film adhering to film standards and critics will judge it on that.

Lame Joker and most of the cast has little screen time.....reads like a movie I would not want to watch.

I've always felt "The Killing Joke" was just a decent story at best....never really considered it a seminal work. It's that story that defined a character and then was retconned during New52.
