I saw some Batfam appreciation from the official Batman account on Instagram today — https://www.instagram.com/p/ChDLis_lkhz/
Split the difference. The ideal length is a good medium height, like this.
He'll definitely be back, it's just a question of when... I can't imagine he'd still be dead by the time The Penguin HBO Max show comes out (assuming it still does).
DC showing some Dick Grayson love on their socials today -- https://twitter.com/DCComics/status/1555312738141978627
I loved the first part of King's run, thought the wedding was a real let-down, and most of the rest of the run was underwhelming with the plotting feeling very scattered.
Still, I had high hopes...
Yep! That's why I voted Tim Drake.
I started with Knightfall, the Zsasz issue. So it was Tim first for me... unless you count the animated series or 60s show, which I probably saw before I read that comic.
Best overall character:
1. Dick Grayson
2. Damian Wayne
3. Tim Drake
4. Stephanie Brown
5. Jason Todd
Best as Robin:
1. Tim Drake
2. Damian Wayne
Keep Alfred dead for as long as possible. It's forcing Bruce to interact with other characters more.
I really loved it despite the massive plot holes with the ending. (Edit: Removed further thoughts since I can't get the spoiler tag to work)
Dafoe, Molina, and Foxx all killed it but I gave my vote to Garfield because I think he really showed how he just embodies the character so perfectly in this one. A shame his solo movies didn't match...
I like that reasoning, and the way the colors of the costume have new meaning with each new kid in the suit. Red shirt + black pants could be cool for Jason... maybe he's always in black jeans b/c...
The DCU HBOMax show's second season is REALLY funny and great... Episode 7 (with Bane and the pit and Gordon and Batgirl) might be the highlight but this whole season kicked ass. First season was a...
I wasn't feeling this series for awhile but I find myself pretty interested by the Red Hood story now that it's peaking. Maybe once the run is complete it will all flow together better from the...
The larger world and mythos (including Robin) is the draw for me too. I was speaking on the conceptual level of it-- "Bruce Wayne" is the justification to how Batman and his world would be possible....
I think that you don't even need it to be Bruce. "Batman" is a clear identity and shape. The ears, the cape, the methodology. We all know Batman, and it's Bruce Wayne, but we know it doesn't have to...
Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, the Batwomans.
Bane, Rupert Thorne, Penguin, Daggett.
I've given this a bit more thought and wanted to expand on this idea. It was asked earlier, what counts as fantastical? And it was then answered with good examples. It reminded me of one of the words...
What a lovely topic. Great posts and points made already. bat39 and godisawesome neatly lined out the publishing history angle, with a great new insight into DKR that I'd never heard articulated...
Anything can be done. I wouldn't prefer it. In general I think I dislike the more colorful Batman's costume is, regardless of their historic use. Even gray-on-black feels a bit more 'superhero' than...
There hasn't been any legitimate "Batman and Robin" action on screen, ever. It's so lame that the best representation of the Dynamic Duo in live action are the terrible '97 film, and.... the '60s...
It's contextual, and it's a cultural threshold. Batman '89 was considered extremely dark. You look at it now, it looks like it's just the goth'd up reboot of the Adam West show, same as Tim Burton's...
It seems like the kind of line that may have been in an O'Neil story first, but TAS definitely popularized it. In particular there was a period on Cartoon Network where that quote was always used as...
Because all of the Robins are rebels, and all of them have complicated feelings toward Bruce, so it's a natural bonding agent between them. He's not necessarily a jerk even. He's just being Batman...
