I don't think the Emma/Jean silencing Sabertooth moment was a commentary on their powers. If it was anything I saw it as an affirmation that Jean really hates Sabertooth. I don't know Emma's personal...

I haven't really been paying attention to comics online lately so I went into this about as fresh as you could hope for and...woah. What a trip. This might be the most amazing retcon(?) I've ever...
An interesting but not ineffective change was that Jean did sacrifice herself in a seemingly definitive way, but it was at the end of the Phoenix Saga. She saved the universe and then flew into the...
I haven't double-checked the sources used, but this is an interesting take that included things about Dark Phoenix I wasn't aware of.

I will never get tired of that music (one of my favorite games).
So I jumped on the issue and actually really liked it. The art and coloring were on-point and really sell the creepy "everything is too clean" vibe. Wasn't sure if I'd be getting any of these AU...
I can't decide if I'm going to read Alpha or not. What do people here think? Yay or nay?
I much less versed in Nate than I am Nova. Nova is a pretty straightforward abomination that didn't have empathy for other people (and per Red was completely incapable of until recently) and was...
I've long thought Jean would have been the most sympathetic non-Avenger to Wanda and, being a telepath, would have tried her hardest to help. But House of M still would have happened.
What I often found weird about the end of Morrison's run leading to HCT is that it discounts the fact that Charles was still alive. I can believe that the X-Men would fall apart if Beast were left in...
I think the never-ending cycle with Nova is likely apt. She was a serious threat and to my knowledge has never been absolved of all her crimes in Morrison's run, so she had to be dealt with one way...
I personally pass zero judgment on Emma (and Jean and Charles) for how they handled Nova in that instance. She'd killed 16 million people, conquered an Empire, and was siccing it on a mansion full of...
It was Emma. I believe there was a Shi'ar soldier who could shapeshift so Emma made it transform to look like Nova's original body and then she tricked Nova (who was on the verge of death at the...
Honestly I think at least part of the reason I like or am interested in so many telepathic characters is because it's such a sketchy power. If I were given the choice of having superpowers telepathy...

First thing Scott wants to do is reconnect with Jean. How unfortunate that kid-Cable decided to throw a wrench into that. But it's probably impossible to ground someone who can time travel.
Things I liked:
- The way the flashback was handled going full silver age. I like imagining that's actually how everyone talked back then.
- The way the resurrection was explained seemed clever and...
Yeah. That's why I said "at least according to..."
I take nothing with Wiki in the title as gospel. ;)
My apologies as I know the thread has moved on from the discussion of Jean's empathic abilities but they got me thinking so I did a little check. I was curious what other prominent x-telepaths have...
For me it's pretty succinctly this. Jean does pretty much everything with intensity. It's why a lot of people find her a bit unnerving. She doesn't really do "balance."
I'm always curious to hear her perspective on working on those movies. At the time they weren't quite the career launchers they became in the rising Marvel era (most of the actors were fairly...
That idea got floated around a couple times and people complained it'd be yet another case of the Avengers stealing X-characters. :P (but that I recall the Jean diehard fans often liked the idea; I...
It does raise Jean's inspirational factor, knowing she walks around with those memories and feelings all the time but still strives to be so positive.
I general don't have issues with the creators. They're definitely the little guy in the situation and as the podcast alludes to their creative freedom is pretty hamstrung.
Even without the rapport, if it were narratively expedient they would have had Jean sense Scott's awakening, as that sort of stuff has happened before. But it (probably) wasn't fit for the story so...
