The writer of the next run has an easy job of getting fans to like them. Just retcon the hell out of this run.

The fact that they seem to be ignoring Peter's actual supporting cast in favor of random Marvel characters (who are typically portrayed as superheroes themselves) isn't exactly an exciting prospect....
