The Court of Owls I would say even though it's not really a singular character. Some of the Morrison DickBats villains have stuck around like Dr. Hurt and Professor Pyg.
It feels like there hasn't functionally been an editor for the Bat books since Conroy left anyway.
It's true that while it's probably more fun for creators at times to "reinvent" popular characters and that it can be novel to read about, I would prefer that DC keep their talented creators on books...
I was late to reading this story but read it as a whole in collected editions. Beautiful art, but it seems very greedy to me for such a talented creative team to use the rich and established history...
I don't go on Twitter or Tumblr or 4chan or whatever for comics discussions, but on CBR at least most of the posters who snark about Tim have done so since 2018 at least and I've seen very little...
I do think its exceedingly rare to tell good stories with the entire Batfamily actually having an interesting role instead of slotting into obligatory single lines of dialogue crowded around in group...
With how successful this run has been, I think it would be a mistake to not try to solidify the current sales position by getting a high level creative team. So I'd like to see something ambitious...
Man, if you asked me to make the perfect Nightwing suit a few years ago, it'd be exactly this. Bold, simple, iconic, and even down to the accents like the light blue soles and palms that I grew to...
A trigger like being mind-bombed by Batman perhaps?
He could go by the name Agent 39!
Some people liking him more in the villain/antagonist role doesn't mean they aren't fans of the character. That's like saying people that don't want Mr. Freeze to be a hero with an ongoing aren't...
I totally understand what Snyder was going for by trying to give Duke a distinct place in Gotham and therefore steered clear of associating him with the other teenaged characters, but in the long...
I must say that I don't hate the Gray Ghost name or concept designs, though every other scenario of him taking on an established mantle or Nightwing/Robin-derivative name makes me wince.
That's a bummer they couldn't get an artist to draw all 6 issues in a mini. What do editors do these days?
edit: Wrong thread
It is covers like those that make checking solicits at work particularly nerve racking for fear of being seen browsing past such a cover without context.
Is the direct market dying because of the high pricing, or is the high pricing because the direct market is dying?
MCU is looking shaky. And with how big TT:Go is, I have a hard time believing that a significant portion of the general audience would watch Champions without also knowing what Teen Titans are.
Hmm, I already thought this came out and flopped for some reason.
It would have been fairly easy and relatively inoffensive to do too were it not for the absolutely boneheaded decision to make Jason and Barbara get intimate.
Good catch, thanks!
This run has an insane slate of artists for how little discussion it generates
Why so? I think it looks great here (Raven's design aside.)
I dunno maybe its just me, but the longer an elseworld runs and the farther removed from the main continuity it becomes, the more I lost interest in it. So I'd prefer a reset as well.
