Marvel Epic Collections are a lot better now, after a couple of years or really poor quality and thin books printed by Fry, Quad and LSC.

DC desperately need to publish their version of the Marvel Epic Collections, why they haven’t done this yet just sums up how badly their collected edition department is run these days.

I have just put my copy on Gotham Central on eBay, as it’s the oldest omnibus I own and quite frankly it’s seen better days after being read about 10 times.

They have already collected the entirety of X-Cutioner’s Song in the second X-Force Epic so I can imagine they will just do similar for the other X-overs.

The 3-1’s are the same size as standard manga but with a lot more pages.

The Viz Bigs are about the same size as TPB’s and the Viz Signature books are a little larger than standard manga as well.

The Fables compendiums I have are well built and even after reading them the spine is intact.

Booksetc are far better, every omni I have bought from there has arrived in perfect condition.

Waid’s run was great and a million times better than Diggle’s.

It’s even worse for us here in the UK, some books don’t even seem to reach these shores these days, and others are sold out straight away.

I recently finished that myself and I have to say it was rather a slog at times and I can’t say I enjoyed most of it.

Amazon.co.uk have Uncanny X-Force omnibus back in stock, it’s at full retail price but it’s still better than paying the prices it goes for on EBay.

The Seven Soldiers omni isn't really very big anyway, it's as easy to read as most OHC's really.

The Manhattan Projects was just an awful, confusing mess of a book and I gave up on it after about 8 issues.

Fantastic Four Omnibus by Matt Faction is the only Marvel book I have ever gave up on,...

Personally I prefer the thin paper as it means even books that are a 1000 pages long are still pretty easy to handle and read.

While anything over 800 pages from DC ends up being far to cumbersome...
