If it were up to me, I'd have DC release a bunch of $1.00 Issue #0's for each major character/franchise told from the perspective of some omniscient observer like Metron or Rip Hunter or something....

It's hard to describe that subtle feeling of something missing when seeing certain characters interact. It probably doesn't matter too much in the solo books, but crossovers force the issue.

Totally agreed. Superman is a well-rounded character and I wish we could see more iterations that included multiple sides of his personality within the same actor.
