Quality is subjective. The work of Brian Bendis is seen industry-wide as a measure of quality. Minorities have a dark road ahead of them. Now I see why diversity is being forced upon me.
I'm a Marvel comics fan first, so I refuse to be just limited to a certain selection of comics because minority diversity is so important to minorities (only). My wallet is being forced to protect...
Minority issues are just so complex. You want to be represented thoroughly, but you won't support these representations??? Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. Do you think every issue...
Entitlement. People holding a bigger perceived greatness about themselves than is actually realized.
"No minority is under any obligation to support a minority book."
After reading all you've posted, I think this needs to be challenged.
Thank You!
As long as the diversity doesn't derail my enjoyment of the comics (which it slowly is), may Marvel best every lesser publisher in existence. I'm a Marvel supporter either way, so seeing them stay...
We are both seeing what we believe we are seeing and I believe you and I are done here. Peace.
You're putting way too much emphasis on the minority dollar. They're as fickle as anyone (as evidenced by this thread).
I'll believe it when I see Marvel's Icon's sidelined for minority characters...
Cool. Minorities are having top-selling titles now. Why still the complaints? Like I've stated earlier, minorities tend to make arbitrary complaints.
I'm not sure why you directed this at me...
I'm sorry that you feel this way and it's come to this. I know people need to take lengthy breaks from the genre from time to time, but I don't know if much will change.
Yes, I know that minority-led series get axed from time to time, but so do non-minority titles. If it seems like it happens more frequently to minority-oriented titles it's because the support wasn't...
Marvel is becoming more diverse because it sates individuals clamoring for such a thing. You think they do it because they just love minorities?
Sounds like entitlement to me. Marvel is just one of hundreds of publishers and people don't generally read their comics for sexual and ethnic diversity. And why would they since it's home to some of...
Absolutely agree with him. I've been saying this for the longest. Publishers like Marvel only do the increased diversity thing because there are people who will spend their money on products...
I stated that minority readers want minority characters to be treated with kid gloves. Minority characters should be able to get the axe just like any character in this genre, but the minority...
This is my entire problem with this whole development.
I've been long-time reader because I like the medium and I like the publisher. When I'm forced to visualize and read about characters who...
Negative Space #1 (of 4) - I've got this in my "cart" currently. I may pull it. Glad to know it's status now (it's a miniseries).
The costume changes have already depressed me. I say they go ahead and use Mamoa's likeness, too (and the textured hair and the stubble is just an indication he's growing a beard). I knew this was...
For some reason - outside of Grey Hulk - I don't like when the Hulk is wearing blue jeans - even though it makes more sense than purple ones. :p
My aging body can't handle all off this Avengers goodness!!! Make Mine Marvel.
Particularly, Bendis, Brubaker, and Samnee.
Hulk vs Mjolnir.
Avengers, then Captain America.
It should be the Hulk for me, but his films have been garbage so far. The Abomination was the only good thing.
