Mostly agree with you. Bendis has written one of my favourite funny Spidey scenes ever, when he has those written "fat-jokes" in the first Kingpin story. Peter David did "the Commuter" story. Those...
Might be worth checking out! This interview certainly made me interested! :)
I wholeheartedly agree! I was psyched to see the real Hobgoblin back! Oh, and today Comixology release some of Roger Stern's Amazing Spider-Man issues, I think including Hobbies first appearance.
It was a mess for sure. Still, there was so damn much good stuff during these days. Spider-Man had a golden age with Stern's run as a shining example, and then I'm just mentioning Spidey. We had no...
I can understand that Marvel wanted to resolve the Hobgoblin identity when Stern left rather suddenly, if I'm not mistaken. Instead we got Macendale who was kind of interesting at first, when he...
It sounds perfectly plausible compared to how they explained that Aunt May hadn't died and who died in her place. ;)
Stuff for a "Hobgoblin Lives AGAIN!" story? :P
Yeah, he was slowly going insane, that's for sure. It was somehow ironic that he said that he wouldn't fall into the same traps as Norman Osborn did, but still might after all. But I still think...
Yeah, I think that one of the points of the Hobgoblin was that he was NOT Norman Osborn in so many ways. He didn't have the same madness, and not that connection to Peter Parker that many villains...
Bah. The Hobgoblin was so damn cool, and the mystery as well. I'm certain Stern would have handled the reveal, if he hadn't left ASM too soon, expertly. :)
Sorry, forgot to comment that. Yeah, it was a startling resemblance, but what does that guy do? Is he an actor? :D
Much of the music was excellent. I was totally into the Brit pop stuff, and swedish music was great as well...but I had a break with comics for a while. Got back just into time for the Clone Saga...;)
Ah. I never played that game, and I was never a fan of that 90's thang.
I didn't hate Macendale either, but I don't think he was as good as the original. Spidey's first fight with Macendale was awesome, but I was not a fan of the Demogoblin.
Still, this way we got to have the original Hobgoblin still alive instead of the second rate Jason Macendale! ;)
I have no problem with it. I like it when the villains are relatable, like so often in Spidey comics, but not everyone has to be that either. It's not as if I thought Ned being the Hobgoblin was dumb...
I liked it when he had jeans and a t-shirt during his early days when Grant Morrison wrote it and Rags Morales drew. :)
I don't know who Anderson Cooper is, but I mean, if Kal-El can play a goofy and meek Clark Kent, why can't Roderick Kingsley hide his ruthless nature? ;)
Oh? I liked Hobgoblin Lives, and I Think it was only fair that Roger Stern got to say who he intended Hobgoblin to be. :)
I don't think that was undone. I think it was Slott's plan all along to fool us into thinking it was Roddy who died. :)
Ned didn't kill him. Roderick Kingsley, the original Hobgoblin, did. And how could Roddy kill him? Jason was in a cage, and besides, Kingsley is awesone, while Macendale just isn't.
That's Superman nowadays, right?
Exactly. And I'm sure that the only reason that we didn't get to see Jonah is that they knew that there was no way to match J.K Simmons in that part. I'm sure there is a way, but they kind of made a...
Thank you! :)
Yeah, I think you made some excellent points here. Raimi's Spider-Man feels tighter, and that they knew what they wanted to do with their story and the characters. Even if I don't agree with for...
