The Triton/Namor relationship really does need to come up more. Its always entertaining whenever they meet up.

Thats a good point about it not showing up after 1963. I'm sure the colors didn't look quite as garish on newsprint.
Silver age coloring was kind of a throwaway job. I don't even know if the colorist chose the colors themselves or just followed the color guides. They were the last to get credit for their work on...
I like to think of it like Star Trek TNG. The first season is rough but it makes you appreciate season 2 and on more. Same thing with that limbo period between FF 20 and the galactus saga.
I do...
Usagi Yojimbo:
Lord Hijiki
Neko Ninja
Mogura Ninja
Kormori Ninja
-they are three separate factions and will fight each other or Usagi
Toady
Jei
Lord of Owls
I did get the first three masterworks when that had that weird sale two years ago and they were $1 each.
My library got a copy of Rip Kirby Vol 1 by alex raymond. I read through the first arc. Its really good when compared to what Marvel and DC were doing in 1946. No wonder newspaper strips were king...
Nice to see Namor found a use for all those old pairs of trunks :D
I have one of these 10 minutes from my house and i've never found anything all that great. Good find!
I love those so much. Its exactly what i want out of a Namor series.
I'm expecting way too much out of the Kurt Busiek mini series. But he did so good on the DH Conan. I wish he could be let loose...
No, but i think it will set up the multiverse to get them and the x-men in.
Someone here posted it a while back but i just love the idea of doing the FF movie as a period piece. Set it in the...
Aquaman.
I haven't tried a lot of DC. Silver Age wise i've tried Aquaman, Adam Strange, Hawkman, and Enemy Ace.
I liked Geoff Johns Aquaman well enough, even if it feels a bit disjointed. I...
I didn't realize its never been reprinted. I found 1-4 of that and 1-12 of saga of the sub-mariner at my local shop in the dollar bins. I bought both not even knowing what they were.
I LOVE the...
Using Hulk as an example again, they haven't done so with his stuff once his own series gets going again so i doubt they will with Namor. Its just too much material to reuse for the line.
I was holding off on buying the masterworks figuring they would do an epic line eventually. I did find a paperback copy of vol. 1 for $12 so i don't mind the double dipping.
Sub-Mariner vol. 1 Epic contents
Vol. 1:
Fantastic Four (1961) 4, 6, 9, 14, 27, 33
Fantastic Four Annual (1963) 1
Strange Tales (1951) 107, 125
Avengers (1963) 3-4
X-Men (1963) 6 ...
I bought the Sub-mariner paperback masterwork vol. 1 to hold me over until the epic collection comes out. I've been slowly rereading these. Gene Colan might be my favorite silver age artist.
No one is talking about erasing the confederacy from history. That is a straw-man argument. Statues in public places are for honoring someone, statues for history belong in museums.
I've always...
settle a debate for me please. Is it pronounced Tie-gra or Tea-gra?
Loved seeing it! You've got a good mix there. The Usagi Yojimbo and Del Rey Robert E. Howard stuff caught my eye.
Thank you for trying. You just click on the box and it works. Not sure if you need a Patreon account or not.
Give the podcast a try if you do those. One of the hosts runs Comic Book Herald. They...
I've been following a reading order/podcast called My Marvelous Year where they take a look at what they consider to be the 10 most important stories (not issues) for each year in marvel and we're up...
Honestly i would think 99.9% of people would not enjoy what you're about to do. I read 80% of Marvel's superhero silver age material between 2014 and 2019 and I don't know that it was worth it. Sure...
So i saw this image on twitter today
93855
And i was talking with some people in the My Marvelous Year slack about how i like the image but don't like the triangle head. And i brought up Carl...
Oh and if you don't mind the comic strip format, Prince Valiant is great.
