"Hiring in comics is largely based upon personal relationships and handshakes. "
This has not been my experience, at least in the literal. I've met every editor I've ever actually worked with,...
I haven't read Omega Men past issue one* so I can't speak to the other issues. Tom and I are friends, though, and we've spoke about Kyle. The Kyle tends to think of himself as a GL was the way I...
Yep, should be. We got our comps a couple weeks ago.
Six issues.
Thanks!
You're the first person who has mentioned the Oliver Twist thing, which is entirely intentional. The Professor is meant to be, or at least look like, a Fagin type.
Should be. I've had the the comps for a week or two.
Yeah, the intent with these is that they're not filler. You don't, I think, need to know the Preacher's story to understand the first arc, but I think the first arc is stronger knowing what made him...
Thanks! I really liked how the issue turned out. The next one of these, issue 12, is about Molly. It's, uh.....dark.
Nah, no worries - I hope I wasn't too snarky.
It's just that making non big two comic is complicated. Well, Big Two is complicated too, but that's mostly editorial's problem. On my Image books, I...
Here's the thing: we don't get paid for this book ahead of time. And that drawing a book even kind of monthly is a full time job. More than full time, usually - I don't know many artists that ONLY...
I genuinely hope someone brings him back.
Thanks!
Fun fact: The ring that went to the Daxamite was originally supposed to go to Warth, who was going to be resurrected without explanation besides "It's a long story" but this was one of the...
Well, no, the ring on the tree thing was established sometime before Godhead. I initially thought Mogo's ring was still the huge interior thing, and Orion was going to tear that out. It was cool.
The Life Equation allows you to rewrite the universe as you see fit, IF you can figure out how. That's a big if - no one we've seen use it is particularly good at it, including Highfather. But (he...
I honestly don't recall - I'm not a hundred percent sure that I am remembering that bit right.
I know for my stuff with New Guardians I ended up not using a lot of the weirder stuff because of...
Indeed.
And if I am remembering the details on the background of Relic's universe correctly, the colors of the lightsmiths didn't correspond the the same emotion as they do in the New 52...
Bzzzt. She's at the company and talks to the Zamorans during the run. But tell us more about the book you evidentally don't read.
Bear in mind, production costs aren't JUST the cost of producing a book.
For instance on DC book you're looking at a minimum of
100 per page for the writer
200 a page for pencils and inks...
"but then digital wasn't included"
It is.
Digital First creators didn't get royalties on their stuff, but if you wrote a periodical you've gotten digital sales royalties for at least as long...
And thanks!
Much. MUCH bigger.
But the Psions will connect a lot of dots about stuff that's happened in the book so far.
There's a lot of backstory there that I didn't have time to get to - but Mogo killing Raga was the hardest thing he ever did, and not without trying really hard to save him first. But it's affected...
Raga is, like the Godkillers and Exeter, a concept I hope to come back to myself or somebody else will - one of the things I am trying to do is fill out the cosmic sandbox a bit for other people to...
Not a goof - Mogo is both male and female (or more precisely, he's kind of beyond the definition), and I tried sibling and sister in there, but brother sounded right.
Sadly, no - I'd love to return to Deathstroke, though. I really enjoyed writing it and could have done a lot more with him.
