I really worry that the name alone is is going to hurt Marauders' sales.
Man, "Kate" is never gonna happen.
It's as appealing as Ric Grayson.
Just remembered Legion got over 20 issues because they called it X-Men Legacy
Just learned that her last book sold way more than I thought, but yeah.
She's not the star and the title is friggin "Fallen Angels"
Will do, thanks for the tip
Is she ever a strong seller when not called "Wolverine"?
I'm hoping Duggan can finally make her likable again.
Just sad she didn't get her fluffy hair back.
Optimistic about X-Men, New Mutants, and Marauders.
X-Force sounds fine but doesn't interest me.
Excalibur seems very "in name only." Not feeling it.
And we have our first cancellation in Fallen...
And so ends one if the most worthless X-Men runs.
Please never return, Rosenberg.
Please don't blow it, Hickman.
If they had any balls at all they would have used a major character.
If they had any sense at all they wouldn't have have drastically undercut the delivery by using a character who sees the future...
Next issue. If not Wolverine, SOMEONE will attack Cyclops and blame him for everything.
Was it really so hard to just have Jaime show up saying "I have no idea why that dupe thought he was me. These guys are weird sometimes"?
There is no character whose death is easier to undo, but...
Made infinitely worse by her power being to see the future, so she knows for a fact that it won't get better and is not a temporary problem.
Blindfold, Loa, and Velocidad are hardly on the same level as Wolverine and Cyclops.
And given how Rosenberg "brought back" Madrox, I'd almost prefer they stay dead until he's off the books anyway.
Even if Blindfold is coming back (which I doubt), there's no chance the same is true of Loa and Velocidad('s youth).
A comics writer saying "this death is permanent" is always faintly desperate.
"Death is basically meaningless in superhero stories, but not this time, reader."
Really, come on.
All to show how dedicated they are to the racism metaphor
Christ
I know we're all focusing on the lame deaths and repetitive story, but another terrible thing that jumps out at me is the mindbogglingly terrible use of Jaime and Layla.
They've never met. He is...
These days the "mutant metaphor" is misguided at best and offensive at worst.
Real-life marginalized people are hated for irrational reasons, but mutants can and do accidentally/intentionally kill...
More than anything the issue is Jordan White.
I thought Bendis was a franchise low point, but then Rosenberg showed up.
I feel for the artist. Sucks to put in that much work only for it to be shelved.
That said, the comic sounded just terrible, and I have zero patience for Cain.
When criticized for retconning...
Them getting back together with it being more horrible every time is a sacred X-Men tradition.
God I miss when X-Men announcements didn't just fill me with dread.
What dumb, terrible thing will they do in a horribly misguided attempt to build interest?
Even seeing so many of the kids there...
