I think Blade is possessed by Varnae, the first Vampire. He specifically mentions that the Darkforce attack was accomplished with pre-Cataclysm Atlantean rituals. That’s exactly Varnae’s deal.

I mean, the Marvel Voices issues (which, again, this Special is) do also focus on creators from marginalized groups. Not that I disagree that DC does it better.
There’s an editor’s note in the back of the first issue that essentially says “this is intended to be canon”, for what it’s worth.

This is explicitly a rebranded iteration of their annual Pride Month special comic.
Not everybody knows what Chris Claremont looks like.

The Marvel Ultimate Alliance game was my first exposure to most Marvel characters that weren’t Spider-Man. Oh, Marvel Versus Capcom 2 as well.
I do think the big miss of all the AI stuff getting stuffed into the last three months of the era is that we don’t get to see how the heroic AI of the Marvel Universe respond.
How great would...
As absent from the main books as she’s been, Firestar had a great showing in Unlimited, I thought.
Honestly, Duggan’s use of MODOK seems more inspired by the Patton Oswald / Jordan Blum MODOK cartoon than anything else. And outside of that, MODOK is just one of those villains that pretty...
It’s a bit odd that Duggan’s writing in the FotHoX mini leaves so much room for tie-ins to flesh things out but then his own tie-ins don’t do that at all.
It’s not a lineup that interests me, whether it’s been a long time since these characters were together or no.
But, you know, I am fine with that. It’s not a crime for Marvel to produce books I’m...
I feel like this series is just sort of a dud in the shadow of Children of the Vault. Nice as it is that Nicieza gets to wrap up his Black Womb plot, I would have rather seen Deniz Camp continue on...
I mean, the modern age of Marvel Comics was founded on the Fantastic Four, starring a legacy character (Human Torch).
But the difference between most of the examples presented and mutants are the...
He lead mutantkind when the were a group of less than 200. A refugee population mixed with a guerrilla resistance.
That is not really transferable experience to running a nation of 200,000.
