Agreed...makes no sense.
Makes perfect sense as JLA sets up Libra's backstory to the event.
Exactly. In any case, with all this striving for equality, issues like skin colour really need to stop being an issue. Spider-man is Spider-man...the fact that Bendis didnt make his skin colour an...
I got it second hand. They fixed it with subsequent printings I'm pretty sure.
It was more an issue with volume 2. Mine has a flat spine and is falling apart. Definitely not a glued binding though...just poorly constructed compared to the others.
This is how I think too...although these days my patience with sub-par art is getting less and less. There's too much good material out there to be wasting your time.
Regarding Moore's Swamp Thing...count me as another who would prefer it in Absolutes over an omnibus. Use matte paper and we have a winner. Nearly all of Moore's other material in in Absolute so why...
Yes exactly! There are clearly times when Lee and Kirby are at odds and the artwork doesn't really work with whatever direction Lee wants to take it in. Seeing someone else's take would be amazing.
Heck yeah! Secret Invasion, Kraven Last Hunt (I own the premier hc which is awesome), Avengers vol. 2, doctor strange and punisher max 2!
You'd think they would have done a House of M Omni by...
Thanks for clearing that up!
Is this the run that bookends the Straczynski omnibus? Or is that collected elsewhere?
I've been recently reading Lee and Kirby's Fantastic Four run...and as per usual with silver age material started to tire of the tedious verboseness of it all. Then I remembered that back in those...
Ahh that makes perfect sense. Thanks for clearing that up. Didn't know they were doing a WildCATS Absolute!
Does anyone know why The Sleeper omnibus is under the Vertigo imprint? It originally came out under Wildstorm and has Wildstorm characters in it....the Vertigo imprint is messing with my OCD that...
Damn it...missed out on the variant for the spidey omni! I hope they get more in.
^Yeah too much too quick is definitely the problem...not so much the race and gender diversity per se. Marvel forgot to keep the core fans happy and essentially made their entire universe an...
Such a shame about Sandman...DC needs to have a little more faith in their GA characters. Hopefully we can get an omnibus with the complete run.
I'm in the middle of doing it by publisher/era/character
eg: golden age dc > batman > flash > green lantern etc. Then silver age, bronze age and so on. Then the same with Marvel.
But then I...
The Saga books are very attractive to look at...too bad Vaughan is overrated :P
Ah I see...looks like W+D is already sold out but there are still some copies of Phonogram. I'll probably just get the regular editions, as nice as these are.
Why are your copies of W+D and Phonogram white? The copies I was eyeing in the LCS the other day were dark green and black. Or were those just the dust jackets and you have removed them in your pics?
I'm doing the same thing (chronological reading) but for DC and Marvel...starting with the Golden Age. I know it seems daunting...but I'm only reading key issues and iconic runs. If I feel compelled...
Yes these would be nice...Big Damn Sin City is far too unwieldy.
X-Men volumes 1 and 2 by Stan Lee
Thor volume 1 by Lee and Kirby
The Eternals by Kirby
Astonishing X-Men by Whedon
Absolute League of Extraordinary Gentleman vol. 1 and 2 by Moore
Captain...
I would like to see some omni's from certain characters that haven't been shown much love...as opposed to another X-Men or Captain America omni. Where is the original Ghost Rider series from the 70s?...
