My head still hurts trying to do the math getting to #1000.
Have you never heard of PR?
Imagine if Marvel published a listicle of best stories in celebration of an anniversary, and deliberately omitted the big, high price tag, extra pages and extra...
.......huh.
The Peter-Silk-Carl thread was already getting a little unbelievable before Voices added the whole new backstory.
This is the worst post on this forum since OMD and BND
Mixed feelings on this one
New Spidey ongoing = Great
Bagley on a Spider-Book = Great
Slott on a Spider-Book= Mixed
Slott on a Book dealing with Morlun and the greater Verse = Slightly more...
Abel seems a little too on the nose, but cosigning that he would definitely choose "Reilly" for his name.
I can't imagine being so pissed about a comic that I'd tweet the editor to fix a character.
You have a way with words - I was tempted to just type "get a room" but was worried that would have been perhaps even more incendiary...
Reread The Lost Years almost immediately after finishing BR:SM last week. JMS's storytelling is top-tier.
Yawn
So who's gonna bite the bullet and make Spidercide Appreciation Thread 2022
Yeah, unpopular opinion but retconning resurrected Ben as Spidercide is such a cheap out. As unhappy as I am with his new status quo as Chasm I'd rather it just be part of his history rather than...
Hooray! One gay! Shut the thread down guys, we can all go home. Representation has been reached and homophobia/transphobia is OVER!
Let's also attack posters who want more.
I refuse to die until we get a mainline Spider-Boy (and a Batboy in the DC books).
Kinda hoping we don't get another mainline Spider-Girl, I feel like we have more than enough of those.
I find it fascinating that the common thread of Spider-Editors over 35 years is a hatred of the marriage, haha, although the initial pushback was because it was forced on them rather than an issue...
Simpler reason that has nothing to do with the marital status of the writers: editorial mandates.
I think it was an interesting parallel to Ben, more than Kaine ever has been - Ben has been defined (as a clone) by specifically rejecting the circumstances of his creation and seeking to carve his...
A character that was portrayed exclusively as frail and in poor health dying is not fridging. Particularly the resolution it provide's to May's character and how she feels about her nephew and...
ASM #400 was a beautiful story that was tainted by a pointless retcon that served no purpose other than reconfirming that Peter wasn't a father. There have been a handful of good to great stories...
Bagley would have to be the all-time #1, two decades plus of incredible work on Spidey books. JRJR through the 80s as well as in the JMS run is up there as well, also Gleason, Jurgens, Nauck.
I'm hoping BR:SM #4 is still on track for this week, I'm pretty invested in the new developments. I didn't have "becomes a Spidercide stan" on my 2022 bingo card yet here we are....
I felt this too. I honestly feel Wells is a very good writer, despite some of the choices (whether his or editorial) getting in the way.
Honestly I thought it was crazy that a one-off villain was picked to be the main baddie of the Moon Knight show, but headlining a feature film is a whole other magnitude.
