I agree, it’s not as bad as Sins Past or OMD. But, as you also basically acknowledge, that’s not saying a whole lot because this is so bad.
I wonder what Well’s second year is going to bring us.
Marvel did Tony and Wanda dirty, too, especially Wanda. I don’t think it’s a good critique to say that because Marvel editorial teams in the past made bad story decisions, this bad story from current...
It makes no sense at all. That’s all there is to it.
It’s not just the characters. The plot is flipping stupid as all get out, too. The whole thing is just awful.
So much of this story does not make sense because it is simply bad writing. That’s all there is to it.
Even psychology could not fully explain how MJ is acting. This is all just bad writing from Wells.
I read them when they came out 30+ years ago. It was always a good concept, but the execution wasn’t always the greatest. Despite some ugly stereotypes in Luke Cage, the original solo Luke Cage...
Right on!
I am amazed anyone claiming to be a fan thinks this run is in any way less than putrid.
If you like this run, I suggest you check out Spidey’s “One More Day” and “Sins Past.” If you...
Yes, thank you!
What is the exact point of this thread?
Why do you want to kill off specifically black characters? Please, explain.
I’ve changed my mind. I won’t pick this up unless it gets amazing reviews, which I doubt it will. The whole thing looks stupid.
If you were one of these characters, you would be as stoned out of your mind as you could possibly be to get through this dung heap of a story.
I have several disparate thoughts about this Spidey run from Wells…
…Do you believe Wells, Lowe and Cebulski actually thought this is a good story? I mean, can you imagine them in a story...
That’s a decent opinion piece you wrote, although it could use a little more support in the arguments it makes.
Also, you refer to 12 panels that Ms. Marvel was in, when it was 12 pages, not...
Romita Sr. was definitely one of the editorial participants in the plot to kill off Gwen. It may have actually been his idea, depending on which comic legend you choose to believe.
Sins Past and likely Wells’ run suffer from the same thing. They go in for shocking the reader instead of telling a good story.
The Beatles canceled themselves, sadly. No critics really shut them down. Their own success, management, sex, drugs, frayed relationships and money shut them down.
And today, “Cop Killer” is widely recognized as a classic. Ice T and Body Count just told it like it was and is, true poets of the streets.
It goes to show you that hyped up outrage is no judge...
You can’t tell me there aren’t so-called fans and fan-oriented sites and forums who are rooting for Marvel to fail.
Guardians has an 77% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Sounds good, right?...
I really didn’t appreciate Bendis bringing the original five back to the future. (Yes, that’s a movie title, but it also is a fair description of what Bendis did with the original five.) It was such...
The whole 2nd and 3rd seasons were totally bizarre. “Revolt in the Fifth Dimension” is the episode where Bakshi recycled the most material. Bakshi basically stuck Spider-Man into the other cartoon...
As the Spider-Verse concept is about all versions of Spidey, it’s certainly something Sony could do if they wanted, I bet.
I think Butler would need some serious spanx to play that role.
That would be awesome!
It really is madness, isn’t it? It explains why seasons two and three are so strange, right?
I feel like Far From Home leaned into some of the feel or at least the colors of that Spider-Man...
