I'm still steamed that we didn't get to see Williams' ideas for a mutant pantheon. I suspect I would have had a lot more fun with that than what Spurrier was doing in LoX.

It'd be nice if someone remembered that Northstar and Rogue are close. I don't think anyone's touched on that since Mike Carey was cleaning up after Mark Millar's nonsense.
Very curious about NYX and X-Force, will definitely give Uncanny a try. Not really feeling the rest.
I'll give Gail Simone writing Nightcrawler a shot; sounds like two great tastes that go great together. Keeping far away from the new kid team - I've been burned too many times there.
I laughed. XD
Seconded. I didn't expect to fall so hard for this team; I was mostly picking it up because Williams had done good work with Northstar previously. But maaaaan, the creative team got me on board with...
The art is gorgeous, but I'm not a fan of any of the characters so far.
"The First X-Men." But they can't all be home runs. ;) Seriously, though, the guy's a solid writer, constantly improving, he's got a good sense of character, and he's not shy about admitting when he...
I'll give it a shot - Gage knows how to have fun with a premise like this.
Agreed. Even when actually critiquing the work and not the creator, you never know how personally it's going to be taken - between scans_daily, the old Scroll of Colors forum, pre-reboot CBR, and...
Yep. Besides, long-running IPs just aren't the place to be if you want definitive endings and meaningful consequences.
I'm aware that it's not X-Force, thanks.
Another good moment for the Beaubier twins in the preview pages for Wolverine #44.
Again, if you're not keen on gore, might want to approach with caution.
I'm generally pretty down on Percy's X-Force, but I do appreciate all the good moments the Beaubier twins have gotten so far in this event.
"Be gay, do crimes", I suppose.
My top picks would be Amanda Sefton, the Stuart twins, and Charlotte Jones.
Honestly, I prefer when writers bring their own cannon fodder with them instead of killing off established D-listers for momentary shock value.
They get three or four pages of spotlight.
Northstar and Aurora have a very good hero moment in Wolverine #42 this week. If gory ultra-violence is a turn-off, though, you might want to give the issue a pass.
Sounds like fun!
I just barely read enough X-Books this year to have an opinion on anything relevant to the poll. Could be others are in the same boat.
Yup. Not interested, but also not terribly worried about Daken staying dead; cheating death is an X-Men thing anyway, and the Snikt family specialize in it. Wouldn't put it past Percy to steal a page...
IIRC, the line has been that Northstar's been able to generate light on his own since the old Alpha Flight days, but just prefers not to for whatever reason. This has gone back and forth depending on...
Yeah. The mini wasn't great when it came out and hasn't aged well, but it's kind of fascinating historically, given that it was the biggest spotlight Northstar had gotten since his coming out.
Are the twins supposed to have much to do over in X-Force? I thought they were essentially just dropping Akihiro off for the Sabertooth War.
