This sounds like it'll cover X-Factor 1-9 or maybe more. Awesome stuff!
Also ecstatic to see that Spider-Man: Tombstone is finally being collected.
...
Iron Man and Ant-Man didn't draw from the Ultimate stuff. Avengers drew about 50/50, give or take. Captain America is not drawing from the Ultimate stuff. Guardians isn't from the Ultimate stuff....
Lee and Kirby didn't do 115 issues and Byrne was on the series for barely 5 years, not 6. And "Mark" Wieringo never drew the series, it was Mike.
Lee and Kirby are the standard. Byrne was even...
A great opportunity to tell the Elektra story in more detail than a movie could in 2+ hours, but with the same great production values!
The intro to this interview is inaccurate. Michelinie only wrote a few issues without Layton.
Michelinie is one of the best comic writers of all time. I never read a bad comic written by him,...
The black guy looks more like Johnny Storm than that looks like the thing. Can't wait for this to bomb hard.
I used to love the hobby back when the people creating comics were knowledgeable and dedicated to the format. It was the wannabe screewriters trying to turn comics into movies on paper that started...
The late 80's stuff with Tombstone.
I actually have the cross-over collections of the X-books. They have the Silvestri stuff and the Simonson X-Factor stuff, but those are worthy of more.
A few things on my dream list would be:
Spider-Man
Michelinie/Larson collection. (was only about 20 issues, so may not be big enough for an omnibus, but some kind of OHC would be fine)...
Looks like some Nocenti/Romita Jr. Daredevil featuring Typhoid Mary is on the way!
...
I saw Gerry about a month ago and he told me about this. It's been too long in coming, and hopefully his great Tombstone stories will finally be collected!
I see Amazon has some new Epic collections listed. (Just the listings, not the content or issues collected)
Captain America: Streets of Poison - I have this great collection, but this sounds like...
I got my awesome Quantum and Woody Omnibus by Priest and Bright today! Can't wait to dive into reading it!! If anybody is interested in getting it, I wouldn't trust that it had a Marvel or DC sized...
Well, if anybody here can start posting reviews and ratings for the great (or not so great) classic reprints at amazon, it would be a nice gauge of quality and popularity for stuff other than what we...
Every collection ever produced can be reviewed on Amazon, so while the new stuff and classics like Claremont/Byrne X-Men omnibus get a lot of reviews and ratings, it kinda sucks that many older, but...
Walter Simonson - This is solely based on his Thor work. A masterpiece!! The rest of his stuff is also good, but pales by comparison. (Can't wait for his Orion Omnibus in March!) The way he used...
My Quantum and Woody Omnibus by Priest and Bright is in the mail and on the way!! Anybody else get this?
So not only is Avengers becoming the Robert Downey Jr show, but now they want to make Cap 3 the Robert Downey Jr show, too? I have no fear that they'll adapt the sloppy story and bad...
Can't wait for this and the upcoming omnibus. Marvel missed the boat by catering ICON to Millar, Bendis, and Fraction's boring creations, and should have been going after better creators and...
Terry Austin is my favorite, followed closely by Byrne, himself, in the 80's. Other great inkers were Tom, Palmer, Mike Machlan, Karl Kesel, Bob Wiacek, and Joe Sinnott.
His Avengers with Tom Palmer and his Conan with Ernie Chan are pretty much unmatched. I liked everything he ever drew. His FF, Wolverine, and Silver Surfer were also stellar work.
Simonson's Thor
Brubaker and Epting's 1st Cap omnibus
Michelinie and McFarlane's Spider-Man
Stern, Buscema, and Palmer's Avengers
PAD and McFarlane's Hulk
Future Imperfect
Born Again
The Death...
Avengers - He was just the perfect Avengers writer, and should have had a Claremont sized run on the series! When Buscema and Palmer came onto this series, an already great book joined the rare...
