Comic shops had already been struggling, just because the fanbase has been so divided on the new direction of the comics industry over the last 4 or 5 years. Now we have a new struggle with Covid-19....
Saw these characters around the net, and honestly thought they were parodies. Your heart is in the right place Marvel, but your execution is, to put it kindly, lacking.
Pure physical strength? Hulk, easily. That is literally his niche; His physical strength knows no bounds.
Zeus doesn't count. He has Godlike powers that put him beyond pure physical strength.
Oh, and "Prequelle" was brilliant too. Fav track? Probably "Faith". It has a vibe you can't ignore if you like heavy metal.
Cannot believe this thread is still going. I wish they hadn't purged the boards in 2014 (or whenever it was), because there was so much good conversation in those old boards, but it's good to see...
Only if they have the unobtainium we need. Otherwise enslaving is much more long-run practical.
Do we think we'd be meeting The Vulcans or The Borg, is what it boils down to. Impossible to know until we meet them, though the detriments of meeting the Borg would outweigh the benfits of meeting...
Pretty much nailed it here. Until we're informed by harder data than the movie Independence Day, it's impossible to answer this with any certainty. You'd basically just be writing another movie.
That drummer is a fucking beast. I need to give Gojira more of a listen, I've never really given them a chance.
I think even if we all banded together against some common threat, we'd still have bigotry within the ranks of that resistance. And it's not just about race -- if we were all one homogeneous,...
The question wasn't whether bigotry should exist, it was if we believed it will continue to exist. And the answer is yes, it will.
As long as humanity is heterogeneous in any way, shape or form, bigotry will exist.
Chrome for Android. Judging by the response here, it would seem Chrome has won the browser wars. Bill Gates, foiled by those young upstarts yet again.
Exactly, and they've been exceedingly stubborn about doing anything to change it. It's apparently the only model they've found that's profitable in the age of the Diamond monopoly and dwindling...
Fully agreed on Opeth, mostly. I've always had a hard time stomaching some of the more extreme growling vocals, so I'm actually a bit more drawn to the more recent 70's Prog-inspired stuff, though...
Think this guy has hit the nail square on the head.
The medium, and this forum, are a shadow of their former selves. It's my first time back on CBR in many years and it took coming back here...
One question: I've been away from this forum a long time, like many years. Why is every top thread in this sub-forum an "appreciation" thread? Where's all the bitching? Where are all the old forum...
Third would be Volbeat. Mike Poulsen has a vocal approach that turns some off, but if it clicks with you they have tons of cool ****. Good ol' fashioned metal, with some rockabilly thrown in here and...
Second would be Ghost. They're a little too over the top with their 'satanism turned to 11' approach for some, and they've been embroiled in an internal controversy as of late, but I still really dig...
If I had to name one band I've really been digging on the last few years it'd be Mastodon. None of their albums is anything less than great, and they have a few straight up masterpieces.

"It is what it is." A catch-all phrase that's usually used to be flippant or lazy.
"So you cheated on her twice a week for the entire time you were together?"
"Yeah."
"That's pretty f--ked...
I so wish I "got" Maiden. Don't get me wrong, I really do like some of their stuff, but... then as now, their presentation is just too cheesy for me. When I hear Dickinson start to sing I think of...
In CBR days of yore, board metalheads congregated in one of the longest running threads in the now defunct music sub-forum. This is its reprise. A place to discuss and share our passion for all...
I've been getting into Bonamassa more lately. He's obviously a virtuoso guitarist, but I think his singing is amazing too, and is rarely remarked on.
Bonamassa also led me to Beth Hart, who I'm...
