You are assuming superman is the voice of reason...remember Batman is semi-retired it would make more sense for him to rip Superman a new one over what he did in Metropolis.

The philosophical difference will depend on how Batman is portrayed and how much Superman has evolved since MOS. Will be interesting to watch and see how this plays out.
