Thanks for posting the link. I mostly like it. Just wish that "Tenth Anniversary" were not so prominent.

I wanted to mention that Brian Cronin is doing a new CBR Top 100 list. This is the first time he's done one for One-Shots and Graphic Novels. Voting ends August 31st. Here's a link:...

I would assume we'll see a OHC Deluxe edition of Death in the Family eventually. Later this year will be the 30th anniversary. The last issue came out in 1989, so I suppose they could still do a 30th...
JoeGuy, I just came across an old link I had that might be relevant to a question you had posed about how much profit publishers get from omnis. It's not specific to omnibuses, but might give some...
Maybe they're waiting for Gaiman and Buckingham to "finish" the series before they omnibize it. Here is a recent article about the delayed conclusion:

To be honest, it's just an excuse for me to ramble on about a topic I'm interested in. I don't blame anyone for being confused or bored by the intricacies of the Direct Market. It's mostly...
Just so we’re on the same page here. The recently released sales figures are just an analyst’s estimation of how many books North American Direct Market retailers purchased (preordered) from Diamond....
That's interesting. If you look at the Venomnibus sales numbers based on dollar amount, it would be equivalent to about 22,000 $3.99 comics. I'm sure the economics (overhead costs) of selling omnis...
Absolutely correct. Those numbers that Raffi posts every month are just John Jackson Miller's "guestimations" based on ranking numbers (not actual sales numbers) released by Diamond months after the...
I have two suggestions. The first is just persistence on eBay. Looking at sold listings, I see that a Hickman FF vol 1 omni went for over $300 in early May with multiple bids. A few days later...
It was added to my DCBS ship list today, so yes, it should come out on the 11th. Should be available on IST tomorrow at 3pm EST.
Agreed. One of the first hardcovers I bought was a Batman Hush Absolute Edition. I decided the format was not for me and never bought another absolute. It didn't help that the binding broke apart...
Speaking of Morrison, so surprised we haven't seen an All-Star Superman deluxe yet. They've almost missed the chance to do a 10-year anniversary volume (original release was 2005-2008).
I used the Comics Alliance annotations when I read it a few years ago. I found it very helpful at the time. There may be better ones since then that I don't know about.
Here is a link to the first...
I'm another one of those Fantasy Masterpieces reprint kids. I also remember being blown away by the Adam Warlock back-up stories. So agreed--I'd love to see a reprint of SS, and we also need a...
If you buy a Fourth World (and you should!) be sure you are getting a 2nd print--also known as the *corrected* version. So better to buy that off of IST than, for instance, Amazon.
I figured we'd get a non-omni Infinity Gauntley OHC with just the mini-series (and maybe some Silver Surfer lead-in issues). Like what they did with the Winter Soldier OHC when that movie came out.
I think these sorts of crossovers will continue to the point where it may have become impractical for the omnibus to ever be complete. Maybe there'll be a second omnibus? The latest crossover I'm...
Same. My last DCBS order was sent UPS and then passed off to my local post office for delivery. It used to arrive on Saturday, but now comes 3 days later on Tuesday.
Another thing...did anyone...
No, still waiting on my DCBS replacement.
For anyone wanting to vote who hasn't yet, it's now or never. He's several votes shy of last year at present. Voting closes today at 7pm EST.
I took the plunge and sent mine in today. Fingers crossed there will be no mix-ups either with USPS or DCBS. Otherwise I'll just have a front-cover-less Fourth World omni. Though I must say it still...
So I got a reply from DCBS concerning the Fourth World omni corrected version. They checked with DC and confirmed that the reprints will indeed have sewn binding like the original.
