Huh. This actually does look good. And new mutants too? Or are those Inhumans?
Guess I'll find out when I read the issue and hope that this is a good sign in the meantime.

I hope Bunn can make the best of the situation.
No. The vast majority of the Avengers are among the most shallow, paper-thin characters in fiction. They'd have to have personality in order for me to hate them.
It's more annoying that Marvel is...
A writer that's a black and an X-Men fan? Lololol this guy won't last long.
That's two strikes against him already. I wonder if they knew he liked X-Men before they hired him.
This is the result of Emma Frost not having any friends.
"Sniff our magical farts or else!"
Storm, Jean Grey, Wolverine and Prof X, obviously. Maybe Magneto sometimes when he's having one of his "I guess we don't necessarily have to totally eradicate baseline humans" years.
tfw when Emma will never be best friends with Storm. :(
lololololol
Well then his opinion REALLY goes without saying.
"You should buy our product. Our product is great. I don't say that just because I work here."
Brett works for CBR. His opinion on anything Marvel does is going to be positive. It's not like he would be allowed to have a negative opinion.
The view expressed in this article goes without...

Hopefully, the new steward of the X-franchise is a little less hyperbolic and a whole lot more honest than the last...
How long is "a long while"? The Decimation started around 2005 and ran until 2012.
It's ridiculous that they are doing the Decimation again just to promote some awful Donut Steel X-men wannabes, but I'm digging the art.
Hopefully Lemire, and also Cullen Bunn and Dennis Hopeless...
"Why don't you like us??? The X-Men don't even have a wheelchair guy. We've got a wheelchair guy, guys!"
"Please sniff our magical farts! It'll make you an X-Man! Sort of. Please!"

"They simply pitched stories to tell."
Implying this isn't editorially-driven garbage. This story that Lemire and Bunn pitched is the same Inhumans mandate that managed to run Remender off.
...
The line that people who don't even read X-Men came to this board to force feed for months was that movie rights don't affect comics at all. Now that has mostly changed because reality is hard to...
Quote this post if you want the question
"How is this different from the M-Day Decimation story?"
to be answered in an X-POSITION.
Killing off the mutants won't force me to read about the cheap knockoff characters.
Even if the X-Men were entirely at a different company, I wouldn't spend money on a plagiarized concept just...
Best to ignore those people entirely. The majority of them are just mindlessly memeing because it's popular to be hardcore into Disney/Marvel fanboyism anyway.
I don't think the writers have all that much freedom. I think they have to push whatever movie characters are mandated, whether that's Guardians and Avengers and Shield during Bendis or MCUtants now.
It's pretty confirmed that Ike Perlmutter is against any property that Disney doesn't have movie rights to and the CCO and EIC are confirmed to not be fans of the X-Men.
The only reason the X-men...
So wait...are you saying there may be publishing changes?
Thanks for keeping us in the know, Rich!
There is a strong likelihood that a notable portion of the mutant population will be moving offworld even though Mike Marts and Rick Remender are gone.
As much as I trust Rich and want to believe a changing of the guard is coming, I actually don't think we can expect much considering that Ike is confirmed to still be in charge of everything except...
Permultter still has his grip on the comics, though...
Not out of the woods just yet.
