Would those already well versed in the series recommend picking up the...
Totally - I'm not disputing that. If the words had come out of John Constantine's mouth I wouldn't have had a problem with it... which is what I meant when I mentioned the "short fingered..."...
I can live with the "short fingered meat salesman" comment, as I can imagine Constantine saying that, but the horse race commentary at the start of issue 3 just seemed like Oliver trying to prove how...
Yep, I really enjoyed this! There wasn't much "Vigilante" action so far, but as far as setting the scene goes it did a pretty good job. The characters seem well fleshed out and believable - Donny's...
My feelings exactly, I do not enjoy Hitch's writing at all. I've always loved Justice League/JLA (ever since '84) but all we've had so far is faceless villains facing off against cardboard cut-out...
Agreed. The JL is easily my least favourite Rebirth title. I was so close to dropping it after the last issue...
I can go with that, as Oz rescuing Tim shows he clearly wants him alive!
It just occured to me however, that maybe Tim dying was the event that would tie together the threads Oz didn't want tying... that would make more sense... but like you say, time will tell... :)
No argument here, but it doesn't hold up too well in the internal logic of the story - why would Oz rescue someone he wants out of the picture at the very moment they are about to leave that picture....
Issue 2 of Captain Canuck seems to be a nightmare everywhere... on the upside Northguard #1 and All New Classic Captain Canuck #1 should arrive tommorow :)
What I don't get is that if "they" wanted Tim Drake "off the field" why not just let him die in the drone attack. Problem solved. Permanently. Or at least as permanent as death is in a comic book.
I've mentioned here and in other threads that I liked this book but found the political stuffy a bit flaky.
However, having sat down with a coffee and read all the issues from the Rebirth oneshot...
Yeah the weird thing is though I picked up 3,4,5 & 6 on Ebay, but the only #2s to be had are signed copies from Canada which I can't afford the shipping on. Even weirder is that when I checked the...
I'm going to pick this up, I've just started reading Captain Canuck and am really enjoying it!
Although for some reason it seems there is not one copy of issue 2 available in the whole UK...
I agree, can't see it doing any harm at all. I think the shared universe will add depth to all the titles just by existing, even if they are not directly interacting with each other.
I must admit...
I actually think the political stuff is a bit shaky, but the story does flow well and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's probably my favourite rebirth title, and I've never read an Aquaman title before...
Thanks! I've picked up the Justice League "Throne of Atlantis" trade for a good price, not realising it reprints some of the same Aquaman issues... but hey-ho
I'll have to keep looking for a deal...
No, I kind of missed the New 52, Rebirth is a hopping back on point for me... Thanks for the info. though, I might see if I can pick up the trades as it seems like a popular story...
My thoughts exactly! Although I am by no means an expert on such things, throwing Aquaman in jail with no diplomatic inquiry whatsoever doesn't sit right somehow... however I'm enjoying the story and...
I've never read Constantine before until the back end of the last run and really want to like the comic but so far I'm just not feeling it. The art's not really my thing but I can live with it I...
A Cary Bates Captain Atom rebirth would be awesome. I loved that run - it will always be the Captain Atom I remember. The focus on his military/personal/family life was a strong counterpoint to the...
I agree wholeheartedly with this, the solid, interesting plotting that built up over the first issues just seemed to get shoehorned into a bit of a cliche in the end... Why go to all the trouble of...
I thought I'd read somewhere that #16 was going to be the last issue so that's good news! I've actually only just picked up the title and I'm not really sure whether I like Khalid or not, but having...
I've read DC comics on and off for the last 30 years but never actually picked up an issue of Aquaman... but up until issue 3 it was my favorite rebirth title. To be honest it's still up there - but...
