Agreed. That show and LoT are far more expendable than Stargirl or any other DC program, IMO.

I agree. Instead, he's looking for the big bucks via starring roles in films. Unfortunately for him, that ship appears to have sailed a long time ago.
Back in the '70s, I always felt Barry was just a tad faster than Clark, which is still how I feel about it today. I never really thought about it the way you did, but I do like your analysis. :)
I wasn't arguing that point, though, since I agree the Flash should be the fastest.
Not really the same thing, but we'll leave it at that.
True, but that doesn't change the fact that Clark was the most powerful during the '30s, '40s, '50s, '60s... all the way up to now. Now let me be clear here: if DC wanted to change the status quo,...
But those characters were created that way, so how can there be any disrespect? I can understand disrespecting fans of a character (Hal as Parallax, i.e.), but having Superman as the most powerful...
What would he be apologizing for?
I guess all of the humans without any powers in the comics are the most disrespected of them all. ;)
He'll will be haunting WB fifty years from now still hoping to play Cyborg once again, except no one will have cared for many a decade. :)
The reason is Clark, Bruce, and Diana are more well known without their costumes than almost every other superhero with theirs.
I don't believe Superman was ever as fast as Jay Garrick before the latter was created in 1939. I'm not even sure if he were as fast as Wonder Woman at the start of her publishing career. Obviously,...
Editorial control was probably tighter back then, FWIW.
Heh. The more popular you are, the more flak is coming your way (at least post-COIE - I don't recall this kind of stuff before then, except for the Marvel vs. DC crap).
FYI, I like Bats only a shade more than Superman, since they have been my two DC favorites since The Wild Wild West was still on CBS (yes, I'm old). Now for your question: I haven't been talking...
It is what it is and no amount of discussion here will change it, other than getting more people to like your favorites (without tearing down the others you dislike - that's always a losing...
Are you saying every superhero (even ones you don't care about ;)) should be exactly the same power-wise (no, I'm not saying they should have the same exact powers)?
... and why should DC change the status quo after 80+ years? As I posted yesterday, Jim, what is the incentive to give it to some other less popular character?
The Spectre isn't really a superhero but a cosmic being, so someone else has to be the top superhero. They can't all be just as powerful.
But those two are indeed DC's first and have been the most popular since before my parents were born in the early ''40s. What incentive is there for DC to change their place in the DCU?
I don't disagree, but we don't get to make those decisions. :)
Maybe I'm missing an earlier one, but Buffy created the template for all of these later shows 0 the Big Bad, the supporting cast to help you defeat the villains, etc. Man, that was an influential...
Maybe, but he's going to solve more of them 99.9% more times than any of the other superheroes.
If you want Superman to be knocked down a peg or two (or more) power-wise, then you need to do something about his popularity. If he were only selling 10-20 thousands copies and had only one title to...
What's the percentage of TV shows from the '40s to now that aren't formulaic? A per cent? Less? ;)
I don't believe it's a dumb question, but it's obvious that it's being interpreted all different ways here.
