My mind didn't consider OG Den Mother Jean for X-Factor. She is allowed to star in multiple titles. I was automatically thinking of d-list ladies when I think of X-Factor leading lady.

I understand Marvel's problem - Who will be Den Mother of X-Factor if we remove Polaris? Polaris is X-Factor.

Storm transform into her black costume (not from NXM 132 but it works). She will rescue naked Lorna from Genosha ruins in future episode.

Polaris survive - is now floating amongst the debris of what was Genosha - they will show her derange form next.

While I'm not watching this show for Polaris - it definitely burns there's a Genosha genocide episode with a bunch of random d list characters and no Polaris. How easy it would have been to show her...

Super easy to show Polaris throwing up a force field around herself and some others and still get vaporized - No speaking lines - No reunion with X-Men former teammates - Just like that random mutant...
