    Default Last "Iconic" Spider-Man Cover?

Amazing Spiderman has throughout it's long history had some of the most "Iconic" covers in all of comics-covers that become instantly identifiable and are then copied over and over again by artists on other titles. some examples would be Amazing Fantasy #15, Amazing Spiderman #39, Amazing Spiderman #50, and Amazing Spiderman #121. I think the last cover for ASM that would fit into this category would #300, which seems incredibly long ago.

So am I missing any more recent ones that could be considered "Iconic"? or is this now something lost along the way?

Agree about #300, as well as adjective-less Spider-Man #1; both by Todd McFarlane.

The Obama cover got a lot of coverage, and had been imitated later.

It definitely counts as an iconic cover.

Amazing Spider-Man #700 had two covers that might pass muster.

Superior Spider-Man #1 quickly got some attention.

Edge of Spider-Verse #2 sold the premise very quickly.

ASM #700 is one of my favorite covers of all time.

I've always liked the maximum clonage alpha cover and Kraven's last hunt gravestone cover.

For iconic, I consider that to be a cover that might be homaged one day because of its quality or association with a particular moment.

Amazing Spider-Man 545 was an iconic cover. An icon of dubious association for many, I suppose, but it was quite stunning and I could see it being homaged.

Every day is a gift, not a given right.

It's not even the most iconic One More Day image (that would probably be Peter & MJ separated by the stone One More Day letters) which diminishes its status, although it is a good cover.

Both are certainly iconic in their own way.

This was really the only recent cover I thought might qualify as it is linked to a very significant, if controversial event in Spidey history. I put the Obama comic cover in the "gimmick" category. You can find that in the $1 bin at most shows these days.

You can find comics with iconic covers in dollar bins. That's not the measure of the quality of the cover.

If it's the most famous example of a particular kind of gimmick cover, it can still be an iconic cover.

I agree and would add issue #13, with the black costume.

Man, there has to be more, though....
