I want Rogue to just be awesome. Please don't tie her down with cat fights or forced friendships - please!

My hope is that to, we are past the forced fight stuff and honestly until I read the issue I will not speculate it happens, Cover are notorious for having little to do with the events of the book at many times. I just like the fact that it is Inked and Drawn Well!

IF there IS a fight between Rogue and Wanda -- verbal or otherwise -- I would find it interesting if it revolved around the frequency of Wanda's being USED by other nefarious forces.

I mean, that's kind of a compelling/meta discussion that would/should be entertaining to read.
Wanda IS powerful, and therefore a walking, talking, breathing TARGET for dick hole villains to use. And....that's not her fault. That actually really sucks -- to have that level of power and yet, you're continually invaded/possessed/forcibly-overtaken.
But on the flip side, it sucks for everyone around her too. So for people to get ANGRY at her, for having been used -- especially as often as she has -- that's some rather unfortunate victim shaming, isn't it? But at the same time, I completely understand the outside perspective of "Your POWER is continually EFFING US OVER because of all these jackals commandeering your gawdamn body, WANDA!" Its not an easy resolution either.

Sure, when she sought out the "life force" thing by way of Doom, and it drove her mad, SURE -- in THAT situation, she was tampering with some **** beyond her pay grade. But, all these evil folks who keep setting up shop in her bod? Well that just isn't her fault. And that is a discussion I'd be curious to see laid out.

While that would be interesting I hope if that does happen it is only for a short-time in the book, but we will see what the writer wants to get at.

Mostly it is kind of the same meta dicussion one can have about why so many keep getting the phoenix force trust upon them or like the last Red Skull arc even with training many characters X-Men or otherwise keep getting mind-puppeteer even with training. Heck the Secret Empire event is all about being warped by cosmic forces and we just had a Big Event around that. So really this is more common for the hero community then one would like to admit. If they could, I doubt it, but if they went meta abit more on this issue would they bring those parts up as well and many say "DANG, Besides having these Civil War Conflicts, we all really need to step up our game with getting controlled like that!"

But again, I WAY Prefer it to Willingly agreeing to HAIL HYDRA!

The art is beautiful. More beautiful than those in many of the proper X-books. I can't help feeling that Marvel believes that X-fans would keep buying X-books regardless of the quality of the artwork (Greg Land) and is allocating the better artists to work on properties that they value more, like the Avengers and Inhumans.

As of the second arc anyway. It was four out of six at first, and five out of nine when the team expanded. By the time volume 1 ended, it was down to three of nine, due to the Maximoffs being revealed to not be mutants after all. Volume 3 added Inhumans to the mix, which are represented by Synapse (a Nuhuman) and Johnny Storm (the FF are long term allies of the Inhumans, and he was with them at the time - this is the first time he's been an Avenger, so he doesn't count as a representative of them) with Cable and Deadpool brought in to bolster the X representatives. With them gone, Wanda and Beast will replace them, with Wonder Man also back. They do try to keep a balance.

Yes, Secret Empire #10 is also out on Wednesday, along with Captain Marvel and Deadpool tie-ins. The Captain Marvel one takes place before #9, while Deadpool's is during #10, his recap page warns that they'll spoil each other. I wouldn't worry about the out of order thing. This week's X-Men Gold and it's previous issue, and next week's X-Men Blue are already after SE.

I always wanted to see Nightcrawler on the team cause of the makeup of the teams characters and how it is changing now I feel it be a good book for him and some good interactions with that makeup of characters!

If we need some drama, can we get some IvX drama between Synapse and Rogue? The event was horrible but some stuff that spun out of it had potential.

Scarlet Witch is 5'7". They draw her taller to make her have more authority over Rogue. It's stupid. Also this artist does a terrible job on Rogue's already awful uniform.

Marvel had their mutant heritage along with their family ties undone to try to stick it to Fox two years ago at the low ebb of Fox/Marvel relations.

I doubt the retcon will hold up or be true in a couple years, but the retcon so far hasn't been reversed.
