Default DC Metal: Dark Matter Science [Fiction]

From time to time, superhero comics lean hard on existing or new or speculative science to explain things in the story, and I was pleasantly surprised to read about dark matter as part of the ominous big bad in DC: Metal. Knowing what I do of dark matter, I felt like that was a big reveal. Kendra Saunders tries to hype it up in one speech balloon, but to lay out the sheer magnitude of the thing, I put some explanations down in this post:

If people enjoy knowing the science behind their comics, I hope that does justice to it, and explains why Snyder may be foreshadowing that our Batman is going to face something a lot scarier than just one evil Batman from the Dark Multiverse.

Thanks, CFS! Someday, new readers will probably look back on this story with a grin, knowing more about what Dark Matter really is. I think it's a bit of a thrill to read this now and imagine how comics readers in the past thought about possible civilizations on Venus and Mars, radioactive minerals, handheld video telephones –*all things we know much more about today.
