Here's my theory. People generally want their superheroes to be sexy and youthful, which baldness isn't associated with either traits.

Oddly enough, and this sort of disproves my theory, but there are more action heroes who are bald than superheroes.

Dashiell Bad Horse from Scalped
Bruce Willis in every movie post him losing hair

There are at least three shaved heads in those "Fast and Furious" movies as I recall (from seeing the ads...)

Not to turn this into a race thing but here we go! In all honesty, black dudes can pull off the bald head better than white dudes. There's only a few cool looking (Grant Morrison ) white dudes that are bald.

Wrong. White dudes pull off the bald look just as good, if not better, than black dudes. I'm proof of that!

It's all in the shape of the head, not the race of the human.

Anyway, we definitely need more bald white superheroes at DC!

I wish artists would draw John Stewart bald. He pulled off the bald look pretty well in justice league unlimited.

I was never a fan of that look to be honest. Which was ironic since John was the only character whose look was changed when JL became JLU and I don't think there was any point to do that. I just find the whole "black guy with bald head and goatee" thing to be kind of played out. Hopefully noone takes this comment the wrong way.

Not for nothing, but I think Shiera never wore the Hawkgirl costume during JLU - she just had that yellow civilian outfit.

It does seem like that way. Most white guys look more like Billy Corgan than Avery Brooks to me. Please God let me keep my hair so I don't have to look like Billy Corgan!
