Default Chip Zdarsky Signs Marvel Exclusive Contract

    https://www.newsarama.com/39065-zdar...nts-maybe.html

“What more can be said about Chip Zdarsky that he hasn't already said about himself?” said editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski. “But seriously, in the time he's been at Marvel, Chip's shown us all the most amazing range of skills as a writer, from his biting humor on Howard the Duck, to the way he approaches Marvel continuity in original ways in Peter Parker, to the heart and humanity he brings to Marvel 2-in-One. We're proud to have him as part of the Marvel family and to let him do whatever he wants with whatever characters he wants. Maybe.”
And here's the cover to Spectacular Spider-Man's annual

I don't know how long he'll be on Spec., but it definitely seems like the stars are aligning for Marvel Two-in-One to eventually become Fantastic Four under Zdarsky's metaphorical pen.

Also looks like Chip may be able to use MJ in Spectacular given Cebulski's statements about letting Chip do anything and write for anyone

Well, the Two-In-One annual is Thing and Infamous Iron Man, not Thing and Human Torch. Could that mean something major?

I guess Kaptara vol 2 isn't happening any time soon. I'm a huge fan of his Marvel stuff but I would really like a follow up to that super overlooked gem. Mark Millar should have to share his "Reborn" profits with Chip, he basically told the same story but added "But everyone is dead".

Are they relaunching PPSSM again with a new #1? If not, then why is the annual #1? Shouldn’t it be 20-something if we’re continuing the legacy numbering?

It has been decades since the last one, so it wouldn't exactly be an annual to keep with the numbers.

ASM's annual was legacy numbered because of Marvel Legacy (and they botched it by omitting Superior Spider-Man's two annuals), but Legacy is already over - some books have phased it out already and the rest will within the next two months.

Mike Allred illustrating a Spider-Man story is way cool.
