I find it sad that Taylor and Katy get tons of flack for their actions but acts like Chris Brown and R. Kelly tend to get a pass.

Kelly escaped jail but he's gotten a fair amount of criticism for his behavior. Chris Brown keeps showing up on like TMZ, but his career is pretty much over. Sure, they still have their die hard fans, but I wouldn't say that they've gotten completely free passes.

Yeah, I like it okay. But, Not THAT much. It seems to have created an odd amount of buzz.

My teenage daughter introduced the song to me over Labor Day weekend. And explained about the feud between Swift and Katie Perry. Plus the LA County Fair is having the "Taylor Swift Experience" as its big pay-extra-to-see attraction, and I'm going with her and one or two of her friends probably.

Anyway the song isn't particularly catchy or great, imho. More of an indictment on current tastes in pop music.

You know I kind of wonder what Pop Music Appreciation Thread folks here could come up with. It wouldn't be a terrible idea to start one. I don't know what the rules should be...

    Pop Music is too broad.

It might be broad but unfortunately it isn't deep.

It sounds like a Fergie song, who also makes generally vapid lame ass music.

Well, I was thinking that there's for lack of a better term, old style vocalists ( say Tony Bennett or someone) who doesn't fit into the other threads neatly. There's lots of one hit wonders or novelty songs that people like.

There hasn't been one time I've ran across this tune in the car where I didn't thing "You know, you could have just played "The Humpty Dance" or "It Takes Two".

It's okay but it's not as catchy as many of her previous hits, like 1989.

Reminds me of Jessica Simpson's own version.
