    Yup.
    #314-319, Annual #14 back in 85/86.
Left Marvel for DC over editorial disagreement -- translated in Byrne-speak as "It's all Jim Shooter's fault".
YMMV on who to believe on that.

Then left again after the book was relaunched in `99. Not sure what the disagreement on that was about. I've never really found or heard him explain that.

    Probably his FF/WCA/Sensational She-Hulk runs.

I would rate his Hulk up there, but it was too damn short.

Runner up would be Alpha Flight. There are some issues with fantastic art! But when I hear him say how disinterested he was in writing/drawing the book, it kinda dampens the spirit on my re-reads and I think, "Is that why he killed Sasquatch???"

That run was all around great as well, would had liked if that run lasted longer that just the eight issues it had.

    You're not.

For me, it's definitely Alpha Flight, FF, and WCA. I dug She-Hulk as well, plus his artwork on X-Men, Iron Fist, and the Champions.

Definitely his Namor, the Sub-Mariner run. His focus on environmentalism solidified a purpose for the character and helped inspire me to pursue it myself.

As for art, it would be between Namor and PM & IF.

In my opinion, Sensational She-Hulk was John Byrne's best Marvel work. It was so fun, the characters were great and it has some of the best fourth-wall breaking I have ever seen in comics.

I remember him saying he had wanted Jen to hook up with Hercules, but editorial nixed the idea. It sounded fun, though.

And it only took a decade or so for it to actually become a thing .

Beat me to it! This is my favorite work at Mavrel from him as well. Top notch stuff he did into those titles.

He had so many just fantastic runs on different books but I have to go with Fantastic Four. There is a reason that when you talk to pretty much anyone he is always mentioned as the 2nd best after Lee and Kirby on that book of all time. Really Byrne was then what Bendis tries to be now. The guy who can do everything. the only difference is Byrne actually could do everything while Bendis fails at that a good 50% of the time.

    But so many good runs:

Fantastic Four - She Hulk - Uncanny X-Men - Alpha Flight - West Coast Avengers - Namor - Iron Fist - Thing - Marvel: the Lost Generation - Marvel Team Up

And then you had books where he just came on and did short runs less than 12 issues that were great too:

Wolverine - Marvel Two in One - Avengers - Amazing Spider Man - Captain America - The Champions - Hulk - Iron Man -
