Congratulations to Darkknight Detective
Thank you Tami for voting for my little entry. I liked the composition too esp how the paintings on the wall synced up with the members of the FF.
This one was another cover that came to mind and I almost used. It's also funny to me because artist/writer John Byrne spoiled his own surprise villain in the story.
Congratulations to The Darknight Detective for an iconic cover which many of us considered. It's a cover that was a first look for many of us at what actually went into the makings of a comic book. Except for the hooded dude with the gun, of course. Although some editors did have that reputation, I'm sure. Great Cover. TDD!
And what has the Captain learned this week? Comic books are an amazing medium. They use a combination of words and pictures to bring us tales of all sorts. The sound effects used during the Adam West series was a small example of that. The use of actual creators as part of the story and the use of characters interacting with their art and the infinity cover are all facets of the comic book world I (and we, can I be so bold here?) love. Comics are more than just text, they're more than just film, they combine different senses as well as referring to their own existence in a meta manner. This week's contest was more evidence why I love this hobby. Thank you, The Celtic Batman, for a contest which allowed us to showcase a wide variety of what our hobby has to offer. It rocked! And, TDD, no pressure this week...
To quote the master thespian Arch Hall Jr. in his immortal classic film Eegah!: Wowie Wow Wow! In all seriousness, I knew I had a contender for this contest, but 7 votes?! I wasn't expecting that based on all of the fine covers posted here. Thanks to all of you who voted for my cover and also thanks also go to the Celtic Batman for a marvelous contest.
BTW, that cover made a big impression on me as a kid. Besides seeing my favorite military comic-book character of them all for the very first time, it was also the first time I can recall a creator as part of the story. Yes, I found it very, very cool.
I'll have something up within the next few hours. Also, like others here, it's nice having Iron Maiden back!
A bat! That's it! It's an omen.. I'll shall become a bat!

Batman wins again!
(This time with dark detectiving instead of mystery celtication.)
🦇
I use complex criteria to determine what covers I vote for;
1. Is it kawaii?
2. Is it dope?
3. Is it instupitiously kawaii and / or dope?
The most difficult question I had to ask myself this week;
'Is Gotlib more kawaii than Batman?'

Congrats Darknight "Double D" Detective!
Close shave for Aparo, easy coasting victory for you. Wonder if there is a story behind why exactly that story was done.
Every day is a gift, not a given right.
Yay, DD!
