Absolutely. Really like "Three Is The Magic Number:"

    And The Preamble song too:

As a teacher, I've used past Schoolhouse Rock episodes in my instruction. It's not so much the content anymore, but the critique and the questions. I've shown my kids "The Great American Melting Pot" numerous times:

We look at the themes and ask ourselves are they true. Is America a melting pot? Are all welcome? Can everyone just "fit right in?" I'm surprised with how my students respond. Some feel it is while others starkly disagree.

Bringing it all back, that's why Saturday morning was so important. It wasn't just entertainment, toy commercials, and sugary cereals. Instead, they were themes, big themes, that still affect us today.

One of my favorite Saturday morning cartoons back in the day. This was before ABC was totally owned by Disney and everything had to be I/E. Cowboys of Moo Mesa was a classic. Yes, it was a TMNT rip-off with anthropomorphic cow cowboys. But it was still fun. Love that theme song:

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

I think when I was in 8th grade we had to recite the Preamble in class. Every kid nailed it but everyone had the exact same pauses and tempo. The teacher was impressed. At one point, some kids looked at each other and laughed. It was like a big joke we were all in on.

Awesome to read bro. Again, the influence of Schoolhouse Rock is still strong. Played the "I'm Just A Bill" Schoolhouse Rock song for a high school American history class. Different decade but still works.

In any case, here are some more bumpers from ABC:

    Pretty creative, right?

Couldn't forget about the ABC PSA's. Still remember the frozen juice sticks:

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

For FOX, there were the Totally For Kids PSA's. I remember this one about sugar:

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

Oh wow, didn't notice, but these old Fox PSA's have some famous actors in them. Below is one featuring a young Elizabeth Moss!

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

Always found this to be pretty catchy. Then I realized about a decade later...wait a minute, wasn't that the Bare Naked Ladies?:

"I am a man of peace."

"A man of peace...who fights like ten tigers."

Meanwhile, in Canada, we kids would see "Hinterland Who's Who."
