I blame the original OHOTMU entry, which stated that Namor could only lift 75 tons, even while submerged. I guess the writer didn't bother to research any of the stories where Namor was depicted lifting an entire submarine over his head. Submarines typically have a displacement measured in tens of thousands of tonnage. Ridiculous.

This is open to debate. Like his brothers, Scott has also been shown to absorb and store energy (hence why he and Alex's powers are ineffective on each other), and being deprived of access to sunlight over an extended time will shut his powers off as well as extended use. If his eyes were merely apertures to a force dimension, it shouldn't matter how much energy he has stored.

Believe the idea is that the energy he absorbs powers/opens the dimension in his eye's.

Winner. But who knows, maybe in time they'll come up with a better explanation for Cyke's powers than portals to a force dimension.

Yes, I agree with my esteemed colleague SpiderClops on that.

Of course, we all know that speedsters are practically never shown doing that in mainstream super hero comics.

But...certainly the DC speedster feats have no known relationship with any known science. The "speed force"...allegedly an attempt to explain the Flash's feats in scientific terms is the biggest load of non scientific cobbles I've ever come across in comics. Against a lot of strong competition admittedly.

Luke Cage got a power upgrade in his nineties series when he underwent the cell regeneration program again.
Luke's current power level obviously depends on the writer now but he is stronger than he was back in the old power man days.

Blackbolt definitely got a massive downgrade like others have said.

but super jump-level upgrade? I don't remember that.

Phoenix Force. I just read somewhere that Jane Thor pimp-slapped the Phoenix Force. Are you kidding me? Can't happen. Should never, ever happen.

Death. Way more powerful. And way more aloof. No one should know her ultimate agenda. Truth be told, she shouldn't have an agenda. She just is. Living things die, they don't come back, and there is no afterlife, nirvana, eternal paradise, or any of that crap. Once you meet her gaze, your life energies are null and void, transformed into the gnawing, cold wasteland of her domain. True Death should frikkin' scare the bejeezus out of even Thanos.

Yep, and upon impacting another solid object, their organs, which are still moving at whatever vastly accelerated speed they were moving at, would be pulverized, their eyeballs flying out of their sockets, etc., etc. That's why DC created the Speed Force. Now they don't have to explain why that never happens to the Flash.

in fairness, Quicksilver's mutation (when he was a mutant) accounted for some of that. he had extra natural shock absorbers in his knees, denser bones, and extra liquid to protect his eyes. but he's not flash level.

    1) There's a new character who becomes the smartest person in the world every other month
    2) I think more street level characters need to be kept off groups and work on their own, heck, even DD was'nt in one for ages.
    3) Hardly the case these days
What we used to call life has very little worth these days. Welcome to the very edge.

Well, yeah, most of Marvel speedsters are more durable to withstand the friction, impact damage and physical wear and tear of moving at those speeds.

That would be Reed, who took his best friend, his teenage love interest and her even younger brother for a spin in an unshielded and untested rocket? Yes, he's brilliant. No, his actions aren't always the smartest. Plenty of room for someone to come in and challenge a bloke like that for top honors.
