    Default Gender and Covetousness

In a certain popular manga-- points for anyone who can recognize the source-- a female character, having rejected a male suitor, sees him get dragged away by another female. First female remarks, "Knowing that he belongs to someone else-- makes him interesting."

Purely going on personal experience, do you think there is any greater covetousness in the female or in the male (assuming one can use such terms with impunity)?

Or if it's the same, are there still different factors in the motivation?

If you want to read about dudes with extreme covetousness towards women, read up on the Trojan war.

Butt 4 serial, I don't think this is something that can be divided between the genders. Human beings are covetous by nature.

I have found that women in general, will take other women's word for it.

The first women is now thinking that the male she rejected did in fact have "value" that she has overlooked & is now filled with regret/2nd thoughts. I don't believe this dynamic working in reverse for men.

Men rate "value" in women differently.

Ding ding, completely agree. It's why a common tactic us to attract a beautiful lady is to have a just as beautiful if not more beautiful friend. The reason being is that a woman would think you must have value in order to have someone who is that attractive and "high value" as a friend, which entails must make you high value. After all, a woman who's an 9 won't spend their time with someone just for giggles. This is magnified by the example you listed in your quote. Of course this doesn't apply to all women,
but I notice a HUGE increase in my tinder match once I posted a picture of me with my model friend, (with her permission of course)
